The sorting hat is only good for sorting, he never has, and never will do anything except for sing a song, and choose the hat your in.

Also, Griffindor's sword was placed in it by Dumbledore and delivered by the bird. So it doesn't naturally exist within the hat. He also says that only a true Griffindor would be able to take the sword from the hat, so there is no guarantee that you would be able to take it.

It's not hard to remember every detail in a series like this. Rowling is no Tolstoy. She may mention many little details, but the books are so short that it's more like remembering lines/stage direction.

And far to dangerous. I wouldn't want to constantly make sure that I didn't see myself and kill myself.

I would also worry about people being smarter then Ron and Harry and realizing that what shes doing is impossible, and mistakenly thinking that there is a dark wizard impersonating me. (Its beyond retarded that they had no idea that she was using that. )
