lol no loss much pizza coffee saved me
So yeah... Week 1 of Biggest Loser is going well-ish.

Thought I'd let you all know how it's been going before I weigh myself and drop 10lbs (maybe...)

Now, the thing to remember about this competition, is it's there to better yourself, not just something to do to try and win those NPs.

Currently, I've not really started. Flicking between my girlfriend's (Marie) and my place with the baby (Faye), dog (Alun*) and a mountain of crap that I'm sure a baby doesn't really require, means it's hard to settle down and do any real cooking/proper eating. But this shouldn't matter! Make healthy choices where you can, and you can still succeed...

The Good!
So I've started walking Alun a lot more. Activity is the easiest way to shift weight. It doesn't have to be intensive either. Bring the shopping (groceries) in 2 bags at a time, those extra few trips all add up. Go for a walk, find a nice bench to sit on, and walk back. As with all dieting, it shouldn't be a painful experience. If you're craving something and want it, have it. If you deny yourself that kitkat every week, one week, you're going to crack, and eat 20 just because you've missed them. Plan your treats well and they can all add up to helping you achieve your goals.

The Bad!
Today's Thursday, which means tonight is curry night, and I'm not cooking it! Yep, Thursday is take-out night. Excellent. Most people would adjust whilst dieting. Me - No! It's my treat. If I can't have one day a week where I don't worry, then it's not worth doing. You shouldn't be trying to lose weight as a diet, it's about making small changes to lifestyle that you can continue after the competition is over. Not the best approach for a competition based around big losses over a short time period, but hey, who cares. I want to be healthy at the end, not neo rich (although I'm sure that'll come with it.)
I'm sure some of you are thinking, having take-out once a week isn't bad... Well remember I said I'm not cooking? Yeah... Pizza hut's buffet (and maybe a waitress or two) took a pounding yesterday. But damn it was worth it.

The Ugly!
I do certain things whilst dieting that don't agree with my system, but they speed up weight loss. I'll give you an example on weigh day if you like, watch out for a 12 hour 5lb+ (healthy) weight loss. It's quite impressive.
I've got a few other tips that I'm going to share (after I've checked they still work for me, and weren't placebo) as the competition goes on.

I hope you've enjoyed reading my first ever blog, I hope it helps give you an insight into the mindset I've got for this and how things are going :)

* Yes my dog is actually called Alun.

Congrats on your perseverance!! :)
