Umm... Stuff?

Okay let's do this! (50 questions)

Posted by Alena, 14 July 2014 · 729 views

Lol, since I'm new (well, to the community at least, if not the programs), I guess I should (re?)introduce myself the way everyone else is doing it. :p
50 questions time! (Most of the answers may seem awkwardly normal and not individualistic at all)

What was your favourite food when you were a child? Umm... chocolate? I think? I remember really hating this girl in my class and thinking she was evil because she said she hated chocolate.

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? Lol, lemme see... Between the Raindrops by Lifehouse ft. Natasha Bedingfield. Yup. I really like pop-y rock and anything like it.

What is one of your favourite quotes? Oooh, this is a hard one. I'm a huge bookworm, so I'll have to flip through some books to see.
“Nobody looks good in their darkest hours. But it's those hours that make us what we are.”

“No matter how people try to dispute it, perception is reality. Its what you choose to believe that makes you the person you are.”
Both from Karen Marie Moning. :p

“Most of the bad guys in the real world don't know that they are bad guys. You don't get a flashing warning sign that you're about to damn yourself. It sneaks up on you when you aren't looking.”
“Time after time, history demonstrates that when people don't want to believe something, they have enormous skills of ignoring it altogether.”
Both from Jim Butcher.

And... a lot more, but I think you're getting bored by now. :p

What’s your favourite indoor/outdoor activity? Lol, I think I answered this in the previous question. Reading! Oh, and going out with friends, drawing, and... other stuff that I can't remember.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Homework! Who doesn't? Ugh. I guess second would be cleaning and/or cooking. I'm really horrible at both.

What is your favourite form of exercise? Running! Treadmill, or outdoors, it doesn't matter. I just like listening to my music whenever I can.

What is your favourite time of day/day of the week/month of the year? I know a lot of people will hate me for this, but for this summer at least, I'll say Monday. :p I have summer school on Thursdays and Fridays, then work during the weekend, so when monday rolls around I'm just... a puddle of gratefulness on the floor. xD

What’s your least favourite mode of transportation? Walking? No, I like walking when I'm with friends and we're just going for a stroll. I guess the metro during rush hours IN THE SUMMER when everyone seems to forget to wear deodorant.

What is your favourite body part? Hands, I guess? They are very important to me. :3

What sound do you love? My music! And rain, which is surprisingly calming.

If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for? At this time, when I'm incredibly broke, probably a potluck, or a picnic, with all of my closest friends.

If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint? I would probably paint the time when Toronto had this huge ice storm that shut down the power for the entire East end of the city for a month at least. But I have to say it was gorgeous! (And luckily I was living in the Central-West end at the time). It looked something like this at the time:

If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? The age I am right now, 21! Or maybe 25, when I look a bit more mature. :p I hate getting older.

If you knew the world was ending in 2012, what would you do differently? I would probably just go shopping like crazy, since right now I'm pretty careful with spending. It's hard to budget when you have an old pet.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? Umm, I guess Einstein? He was incredibly smart, and it would be awesome to learn from him.

If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? I would definitely go into the future and see if we survived the huge climate change crisis, and/or if all the animals became extinct.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Build a time machine! One that works! That would be awesome. :p

If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be? Probably school. I really need to focus on Real Life.

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do? Get into so many car accidents with witnesses, and walk away. Their reactions would kill me! Or maybe try jumping roofs at night, and see how hard it really is. :D

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? I dunno. I'd probably research like crazy at Babynames.com and pick something similar.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? Ada Lovelace. I'd love to talk to her and let her see how advance computer programming has become.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Buy a house, no question. Maybe two—one for me and one for my family, so they'd leave me alone. ;P

If you were reincarnated as an animal/drink/ice cream flavor, what would it be? A cat! I love cats, and I think they really do get to do what they want.

If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?”, what would it be? Lol, how about, "The answer to everything." Though I'll probably just get 42, and no context. xD

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose? Omigod, I can't. Sorry, I've read too many books to ever imagine myself as one of my favourite characters. If I could be in any fictional world, well. Well. I would do Inkheart, since then I could go to any and all fictional worlds of my choosing!

Which celebrity do you get mistaken for? Umm, none. Ever. Lol.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Well, I'm studying Earth and atmospheric science at the moment, so definitely something in that field. ^^ :D

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? On the internet! Who doesn't? xD

What would you name the autobiography of your life? Incredibly, boringly bad choices.

What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life? Hmm. I've never thought about that. I'm definitely making a playlist now!
One that I would definitely put on there is Believer, by American Authors, which basically is just saying to stay positive that things will get better, which is what I play whenever I study and after every exam. :p

Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best? Getting fired from my old restaurant job. It was hard on me because of the no money part, but the atmosphere and the coworkers (*cough*manager*cough*) were really making me incredibly miserable, and now that I think about it, I'm so happy I left.

What was one of the best parties you’ve ever been to? A sleepover to one of my friend's birthday party. Of course, we went out clubbing first, and came back drunk as hell and tired. That was a really crazy day.

What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up? I try hard to avoid those types of books or shows. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I prefer something more light. But I still haven't managed to avoid it all, though. Cold Days by Jim Butcher really killed me.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? Give up an 8-hour holiday (1.5 times pay!) shift to study for my exam. Money's always been pretty tight for me, so that was when I knew I really needed to knuckle down and study.

What was the last experience that made you a stronger person? I dunno, really. I guess when I got a job and immediately had to start paying for myself?

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? Going out really late? Actually I don't think I got into trouble. :p My mom never cared much as long as I told her beforehand.

When was the last time you had an amazing meal? 1/2 price wings night with a friend! Sigh. It wasn't only the food, but also the atmosphere, and the catching up with each other, I guess.

What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received? I once had a Secret Santa who gave me a single box of Pocky. That was really bad, as those things are tiny, and go for under a dollar, even.

What do you miss most about being a kid? Not having so many responsibilities, definitely! I never had to study so much, or be responsible for getting myself to school, and stuff like that.

What is your first memory of being really excited? I dunno. I think when my parents treated us out on a friday night or something?

What was the first thing you bought with your own money? A metro pass. Paying for my cell phone plan was a close second. :p My mom really believed in cutting you off everything the moment you got a job.

When was the last time you were nervous? Oh, that's easy. Checking everyday to see if my exam marks were up. Sigh. School is so nerve-wracking.

What is something you learned in the last week? The proxy-gather program! I never knew about that. I was spending hours checking myself, that I actually considered getting a private proxy. But this really helps. :D

What story does your family always tell about you? When I was just three, my parents took me to the doctor because they thought I was mute, but the doctor just said that I was fine and that I would start talking in my own time.

At what age did you become an adult? Drinking-and-partying adult, or having-responsibilities adult?
For the former, 19, when my friend and I got drunk and hit up some clubs every week and generally were very crazy. Surprisingly, that got old really quickly.
For the latter, a little while later, when I had to start working full-time to pay off my credit card because of the former, LOL. :p

Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate. Well yes, in some ways, since you can describe a person really well, but not many people will be able to recognize him/her without actually seeing the picture.

Where’s Waldo? In some book, I guess? Many, many books.

The best part of waking up is? Being able to restart and plan everything from a fresh perspective.

How now brown cow? What? Is this a riddle?

Whasssssuuuupppppp? My bedroom ceiling, obviously. :p
