gosh. N.K is really being shitheads. but again.. it always seem to work in its favor, considering that the great China has their back.

but really. i'm not sure if this is a proper move, especially since Kim Jong II will be passing power to his son who is relatively unknown to most of N.K until recently. Or again, it could be ordered by his son, (who was promoted to a 4 star general i think), so as to show off his military prowess and command over the NK military.

I remember reading something about them having a new nuclear plant recently, and they purposely showed the facility to some scientist. again, could be a show of threat/power to the world.

NK politics are always screwed. thank god i don't live in SK - i'll be worried forever.

I doubt they will cancel the gsl unless North Korea declares war. Although the motive of the North Koreans for firing the missile eludes me.

    They are at war. Silly.

War never ended. We just have a DMZ zone between the countries so no fighting is happening.

They have attacked before though, and war never escalated.

They are trying to push us into war, but we are busy in other countries. :p

As stated above, the Korean War never ended. It's just been under a 50 year peace treaty... the war is still ongoing.

Also, argue, you a total fucking moron if you support nuclear action over there... Like... that is as nice as I could make that statement. Honestly. Total fucking moron/waste of human life...

So I'm hoping it's just late and I misunderstood you... =/

    A)I was joking
B)they are not capable of nuking back
    C)Nuclear War will never happen
D)Pretty sure we have more then enough bombs ready to cover their entire country several times over
E)I HYPOTHETICALLY kinda wish we would nuke them. I want to know if china dares to try and nuke in return.... even though they also are not capable of nuking us.

I forsee another war and its going to quite tragic. N Korea, and more specifically, Kim Jong Ill, poses much more of a threat to the U.S. than Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan.

Korea does not pose a threat to the us. At all. I would love to see him try and ship his soldiers all the way over to the us (Good luck). That leaves Missiles/planes the only change they have. Considering we have a superior air force, the Patriot Missile System, Star Wars, and who knows what other forms of protection against against them, I highly doubt that will succeed either. But do they want to try? Considering we can cover their entire country in nukes, missiles, and bombs. That would be kinda suicidal.

I'm pretty positive this is just a show of strength/trying to push us into starting something to get the world to like them better. They have done this before. Several times.

China would be our biggest threat, due entirely to their numbers. If everyone in China attacked the us at once, some might make it through. Good thing everyone in america is allowed guns. :p

haha. well. china IS a financial threat.. LOL. plus with their recent hard-armed methods employed against Japan, i think there is much to fear from China in time to come.

N.K is well.. just N.K. doubt they will ever develop anything nuclear that has range to hit US.. lol.

on a side note. starcraft. been working on my research for so long now, and never even tried it. is it really as epic as they say? might consider getting it once my research is done in 2 wks.

well. kim jong ill will be stepping down soon most likely, and succeeded by his son. the recent attacks have been speculated to be shows of his power. much like how that demoted general of N.K got his star back by allegedly attacking the S. Korea warship.

I'm tired and need rest, but please think before you say such ignorant and immoral things.

Peace and love to all around the globe. :)

Your the one saying ignorant things bro :|

Yeah, we can annihilate the entire earth like 5x over... but they only need to get a couple off on us and boom. Let alone fallout and radiation poisoning for years to come...

You realize that we are capable of taking out thousands if not millions of missiles before they reach us right?

So despite the fact that they CAN nuke... and nuclear war is possible in the coming years... More importantly, this puts the U.S. in quite a bind as were are officially involved in that war... yet China has us in their pocket for finances..

I believe they are still researching nukes as a weapon, but even if they could. MAKING it to America is a thousand times harder. We have Lasers. Other Missles, and Planes. All of which can take out nukes safely over the ocean. The nuclear warhead wouldn't even detonate. They have an entire ocean to travel (6,386 miles) to travel. If the Missile travels at 1,000 miles per hour. Thats 6 hours for us to react. I'm 100% comfortable that I can sleep safe at night.

Also, I reiterate my original sentiment to your comment about wishing we would nuke someone. Mass genocide is wrong... plain and simple. And if we go willy-nilly nuking people, I assure you we won't have anything on any store shelves because it all comes from out of the country... and other than that, as if we didn't already have enough countries hating us, you are talking about a massive world movement to wipe us from the globe.

Its not about genocide you fucking douche. I am not saying, "Lets go kill people" I AM SAYING. I WANT TO FUCKING KNOW IF MAD ACTUALLY EXISTS OR NOT. Stop being such a douche and going on and on about people dieing, and us getting money from other countries. Blah Blah Blah. I said, I want us to nuke someone because I am curious about China actually killing us in return. What you fail to understand is that its hypothetical entirely. I was mearly wondering is that if we nuked North Korea. Would China nuke us back, knowing that it would result in us nuking them, and our allies nuking them? Or would our allies nuke us, knowing it would result in us nuking them? Maybe they are too scared of MAD affecting their own lives, to interfere. I know if china nuked a country and told YOU that if you interfered, they would kill you. You wouldn't do something about it. The same policy applied. would China risk being nuked to oblivion to counter nuke a country? None of this will ever happen, but whatever.

And your 100% wrong about us not having anything. I will refer you to when we were last in a depression. The cure? WAR. Whenever we went to war, we tripled our production, and actually did something, rather then importing everything because its easier. There are still plenty of natural resources left in america (And canada, they wont mind :p).

mass genocide is wrong. i have to agree.

but does human ethics apply to N.K and the 'Beloved Leader's' regime?

as much as i would hate mass killings, i certainly would think that a world without N. Korea and its blatant disregard for security around the globe (especially SK), would be a better place.

IF i had the choice, bombings wouldnt be needed. just assasinations of those in power, and a reinstatement of a proper government. but again, there would be mass chaos, and interventions on another country's soil will just bring up more anti-US sentiment. @.@

on a lighter note, please watch this to relieve this depressing topic:

You should've worded your post better... because saying something like "I want us to nuke someone because I am curious about China actually killing us in return." seems to speak for itself.

You should have stated hypothetically... It's not cool to wish death upon millions of innocent people.

I'll come back for the rest of your post at a later time... but you are clearly in the wrong here.

Whenever you can explain to me how someone manages to nuke us whenever we have more missiles then they have nukes. I'll listen.

okay, i get your POV now, and it does open up a point of debate.

Basically: If US nuked N. Korea, and threatened China not to intervene or face nuclear extinction, would China react or just keep quiet about it.

Even considering the economic progress that China is making, i doubt that they would have the balls to do anything. Most to most they will have a public outcry over such a matter, and then anti-US sentiments, as well as possible embargos to the US, but i highly doubt that they would nuke US back. first of all, China is just came out of a communist slump not too many decades ago, and i doubt that their progress is so advanced as to produce that many WOMD to acctually be a military threat to US.

The first concern of any government would be to safeguard THEIR country against danger, and secondary is protecting their allies. i highly doubt that they would take a militaristic stand against US without sufficient backing anywhere, and risk complete destruction to defend their so called 'ally'.

Perhaps in decades this might change, but most probably not any time soon.

You edited that afterwards. And they pose no threat to the US. We can withdraw our troops at anytime. But directly related to what is happening now. North Korea has attacked several times, and rejected the treaty several times. They haven't actually done anything more then that though.

We will wait until they actually invade. South Korea has a bigger military force, and better technology. Maybe we can let them take this on their own. :p

Feels like conflicting statements to me.

That was hypothetical though. Hence the "wish" part. :|

woah. i feel so out of the conversation. you guys are toooo heated up.

but honestly guys, eventhough i do not agree with mass killings, sometimes you would have to admit that it is for the greater good, especially if a diplomatic approach is not working out.

as such, if N. Korea really does possess WOMD, and given their 'awesome' track record of disregarding the safety of its neighbours, would you not rather the UN or US to intervene with a military approach with either bombings or invasions, because they are too much of a risk to have around?

would you sleep easy, knowing that they could easily cause pollitical and economical unrest all over the world in ONE night even if they wanted to? i mean even granted if their weapons cant reach the states, an attack on any country on a nuclear scale would certainly bring about extensive damage on a global scale, be it economical or otherwise.

furthermore, if NK goes unpunished, this gives a sign to other countries - all you need is nuclear weapons as a bargaining chip, and you can do anything you want - extortion or whatever from the world. i do hope that iran will not go down that path. one NK is more than enough.

I wish all blacks would die and I wonder what would happen if all blacks died are two separate statements. (I don't btw... for those who don't know me.)

Your original statement meant that you WISHED that nuclear force was used.

Also, sure, we can withdraw our troops at any time... but why do you think we've had ~60k troops stationed there for the last 50 years? For shits and giggles? We are still in that war. It's not over... But even in your pretend world where everything goes just as you see fit... and the U.S. just suddenly decides to withdraw, what about the political, social, and economic effects of the two nations at war? Our relationship with China and/or the U.N.

I am fucking tired... but you are either incredibly dense, incredibly ignorant, living in a fantasy world, or saying stupid shit intentionally.

Or I dont give a shit?

Like I said a thousand times over. North Korea is not a threat to us. Therefor, I am not worried.

but honestly cody, with things going as it is, even without the withdrawl of troops or any further intervention, NK will continue this path to terrorise the world.

in summary, even if the states does not invoke any WOMD, who is to say that NK would not? lesser of the 2 evils i would say.

i mean, we could see the bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki as a terrorist act by the states against Japan - but again, is it not a factor in ending WWII? lesser of the 2 evils... i would certainly say.

I agree with you 100%... That's why we have 60k troops over there waiting for war to break out.

I just think that the U.S. military is being spread awfully thin... add in one more country who decides to fight us... and things aren't going to look too pretty... especially since our bank.. err.. China... is on the other side... Not to mention our allies are all even further into debt/bankruptcy than we are. I agree something must be done about N.K. but I truly hope WW3 doesn't break out... because I think that it will seriously be catastrophic.

i agree. with so many wars and so many stations around the globe, things are gonna be dangerous, even more so if someone chooses to hurt the states on their own soil. i just do hope that the administration has enough foresight to not start any more fights. i feel that they have been on way too many battlefronts and creating too much resentment around the globe.

China is the tricky thing. their alliances are unclear as to protect world peace or what. they they truly wish for stability of the world - surely they should sever all ties with the north.

in retrospect, i guess one way to end this threat would be for the countries to effectively prevent all shipments of anything related to weaponry to the north, and just supply food, gas, and basic essentials, so that we would not be mass killing them on another front. But china and russia are so engimatic about this situation, and constantly dragging their feet for this to work, and in the meantime letting that facade of democracy (Myanmar) make a killing from selling weapons to the north...

    So stupid/ignorant it is then.

They may not be a military threat to us directly. Their military actions affect us socially, politically, and most importantly, economically, however. In the current state of the U.S. I think that furthering our financial instability is a greater threat than any potential direct military attack. Think outside of the box, adam.

I see your point, I do. However, that just isn't the course of warfare. We may launch further military assaults upon them... but invoking nuclear war violates all of our own treaties on nuclear warfare... not to mention the major difference is we were directly attacked at Pearl Harbor by Japan and it was in retaliation. We haven't been directly attacked... and although it may ultimately be a much simpler solution in the short term, the lasting effects politically may mitigate any benefits entirely... especially when you consider the rest of the world now has the nuclear option on the table to actually use...

Your acting like North Korea is fucking China. I'm 900000% positive that China isnt going to kill their economy just to help North Korea. China relies on us, and other major countries to buy their shit. If they were to stop trading with us. We would both be fucked. Likely they will say, "Ummm, you got this one of your own bro"

North Korea has been isolated for the last 50 years. They are years and years behind in technology, their economy is worse then 60% of the world. They are no were near being a major player. Stop fucking pretending like they are. Your the one being ignorant here. They have a population of just a few million. If they didn't do shit about Iraq, and Afghanistan. If they are not doing anything about The Pakaistan/Isreal situation. If they are not doing anything about the Pirates. WHY WOULD THEY DO SHIT WITH KOREA?

Stop accusing me of ignorance and tell me why politically and socially this would cause any threat? We invaded two fucking countries and people so much as said, "Shame on you". So if KOREA starts shit, they are going to be like, "OH NO YOU DIDN'T DEFEND YOURSELF. We gonna get you now". No they will not. They will be like, "Shame on you" Just like they always do. Until we pose a threat to their income/culture/life they wont care. Thats how the rest of the world works. No one at all protected Iraq. Even though they have allies. Who's going to protect one of the last dictatorships in existence, whenever all they do is threated the entire world?

Less then 10% of the world has nuclear capabilities. Less the 10% of those countries are within missile range of us. Less then 0% of them have more nukes then us.

Why do we even need to use nukes? Our nukes are no big deal. Whenever you can cover the world is regular missiles, nukes are no a big deal. The Atomic Bomb was a "For show thing". We wanted Japan to think we would eliminate their entire island. Now we just have nukes so no one will nuke us. (That would be retardation).

Even if it is 15 injured and 1 wounded. The though of 1 injury is too much. We can barely handle small things. And injury from attacks like these are not small injuries. :'(

I seriously seriously don't want any nukes going out, as nukes ANNIHILATE innocent people and generations to come. The US nuking was such a monster move, disgusting.
