I used to drink like 4-6 cans of coke a day.
I think you know where I stand.

Fortunately, I'm a recovering addict. I only have coke once in a while now.

Soda, from the east coast here so we're soda country

Who the hell calls orange soda Coke, really? And who calls Coke, pop...seems silly to me.

Not on this map, that's where. :p

(Most people call it 'pop' in Alberta though, in case you're curious.)

This is fucking retarded. If someone feels like a coke they will ask for coke. If it was the only flavour in the world, this would be understanding but at this point if someone in the red zone wants a root beer and is saying they want a coke, they must be handicapped.

Well, for rootbeer we say rootbeer. For other soft drinks, it's kinda like this:

"Get me a coke."
"What type?"
"A Diet Dr. Pepper."

or

"I want a coke."
"What flavor?"
"Pepsi."

and so on.

But pop's just ridiculous xD

Coke is a brand and Pepsi is what you could call its rival and you're calling pop ridiculous?

I live in south Texas. We all call it soda. We know the difference between Pepsi and Coke. They are both sodas. This thing is retarded.
I don't think "pop" is ridiculous. That's the northern term. Pepsi and Coke are both pop.

What the hell is "other"?
GIMME A FIZZY?

You say
"I would like a 7-up."

A coke is just the extremely general term. Like
"I'm gonna go get a coke from the vending machine."

Without further specifics, coke in that case can mean any carbonized drink.

And I guess 'other' is terms like "Fizzy", "Drink", or "Elixir". IDK :D

Do you live in that pale yellow county? Just go south 30 miles to the light green county and ask them what they call it :funone:

For either of those situations I would not even think for a second that they wanted something else other than coke. If I want pepsi, I'll ask for pepsi. THIS IS STOOPID.

How the hell is 'Purple Stuff' suppose to relax you? The slogan is more suitable for like a yoga class or whatever voodoo you subscript to.

In my mind:
Coke refers to a brand and therefore only acceptable if that's actually what you want.
Pop is just ridiculous
Soda refers to soda water.
