And super thumbs up to the hot lesbian scene... But if I was Mila, I'd go for someone with larger breasts.

I understand it's about Swan Lake, but for the love of waffles and everything good, not EVERYTHING had to be Swan Lake themed. Her ringtone was Swan Lake, her music box was Swan Lake, I'm pretty sure I even saw a poster for Swan Lake. It was simply overkill. With all that said I give the movie a B - ; Decent, but could have been better, was a little tacky at times.
I noticed that, too. I thought maybe it was to over-emphasize how much her mother pushed her, like it wasn't her own love of ballet, but an obsession spawned from her mother shoving it down her throat - and Swan Lake kinda represents the quintessential performance.
BTW - ballerinas almost never have boobs unless they're "jobs"

So sad. About the boobs. Not the movie.
The thing is, the audience is perfectly capable of coming to that realization with out them having to completely over-do the theme.

Yes, I agree. They really overdid it.
I'm still trying to figure out if she really had sex with Mila, or if that scene was just part of her inability to distinguish reality from fantasy...

On a scale of 1 to ten, 1 being kids movies, and 10 being the scariest movie you've ever seen, how scary did you think it was? I'm a whimp, and can't handle horror. (I know it thriller, not horror.. It's just an example of what I can't take)

They explained it in the movie. Mila actually did come by and took her out to the bar. Mila gives Natalie drugs and ditches her with seedy men. Coming down from her high, Natalie leaves the bar. Figment Mila appears and goes with her. Figment Mila and Natalie arrive back at Psycho Mom's. F.Mila mouths the sentence Natalie is saying to her mother (a good indication that F.Mila is really a figment of her imagination). Natalie goes back into her room and proceeds to have lesbian sex with herself. Or Figment Mila, whatever.
This movie looks scary, in my opinion. But I'd still love to see it because I am in love with Ballet.

Oh hmm. Really depends since it's scarier on a psychological level. I'd say a 7. But then, I am a big horror fan. I'm not easily phased.

I don't think it's "scary" as much as it is disturbing. The movie's [I guess] considered a horror movie because although its intention is not to scare you, it is still trying to evoke a feeling of horror and disgust due to the actions that take place? Horror =/= Fear, necessarily.
EDIT: This is why I don't want to watch it, but on the perverted front, it is damn hard to track down that lesbian scene. Most of 'em have been taken down. D:

I'd agree with that. It's still spooky though. Don't watch it if you're jumpy.

Really that scary? Wow, I didn't realise it would be that thrilling. Have any of you seen shutter island? If you have, would you say that's as scary, less scary or more scary (seeing as how it's also a very psycologically orientated thriller)

Many people made that scene into a gif -> a little sped up. Not that hard to find if you google it haha

Basically. Porn with whiny bitches talking about their problems.
Gotta say, it's pretty f'ing hot. They had to put a little demonic twist in it. Tsch. Just wish I could have been there.

Ohh, ok, because I thought shutter island was predictable but still a little tiny bit scary, so maybe I should wait for this one on DVD. (I'm not a downloading person). Is it MUCH scarier than shutter island, or like a bit scarier.

Are you squeamish? If yes, you'll have some rough scenes to get through.
Are you jumpy? If yes, then you'll have 50% of the movie to get through.
Are you a psychopath? If yes, then you should be fine.

Finally found it -- it was all right. How at the end when Mila's face turns into Natalie's and then she tries to smother her with the pillow is a great way to end it... @_@ I'll stick to porn. ;p

Yeah, I thought that, too. But I also thought it was too weird that Mila would guess that Natalie had a lesbo fantasy about her if she wasn't really there. And I thought the mother would've freaked out more and maybe kicked the door down if that was going on in her house - she was WAY too controlling to just turn her head. Anyway, I just thought you were supposed to wonder how much was in her head, and how much really happened. Like the visit to the hospital...did Beth injure herself or did Portman attack her? Figured it was Portman but I think the director wanted you to wonder about it...

I didn't like Shutter Island either. I predicted the ending about 15 minutes into the film. Guess I kept watching it thinking it would get better.

I didn't think Black Swan was scary, but agree with Connery that it was kind of disturbing...

Well it is a thriller and yes most of it was in her head. She just wanted to be perfect....

And can I say that it was extremely disturbing. It's been awhile since i've seen portman in such an interesting and challenging role.
