Hi all,

I'm trying my best not to be an annoying newbie and posting in the wrong places, not laying things out right etc. but I also don't have time to pick out the most important topics.
What would you say every new neocodex user should read?

Thanks AC

Just don't post rubbish in dead threads and you'll be fine. :p

    Thanks guys!

How do you know a thread is well and truly dead? Just by the date or is there a particular icon associated with the thread?

Just by the date, no icon associated with it.

There's no problem posting in old threads as long as you have something relevant which actually adds to it. Generally though if a thread hasn't been posted in for a few months and you've got nothing which will actually contribute to the discussion it's best to just leave it.

and the fact that sometimes even a newer thread can be done. Like a question was asked, it was answered very thoroughly, thread is done. Don't re-answer the question or randomly force the discussion to keep going.

ALso, if you have a simple question that doesn't take much of an indepth question (like how long does an RS ban last?) simply put it as your status.
