I'm not sure about it, but it should be the way you burn it. For example, i've started smoking using one of these:



And now i only smoke joint, and the difference is significant, i mean you get 2 types of different highs. Plus i've tasted Marijuana Brownies once too, and it's a different high too. I don't know exactly WHY but it might have something to be with the chemical stuff that plays a part when you smoke from a joint (burning paper and marijuana) and a vaporizer, which actually doesn't burn the plant, but it vaporizes it.

Good question!

Cannabis contains more than just the active chemical 9,-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). There are also varying levels of CBN and CBL. Varying amounts of the latter two compounds will change the nature of the high. You can look at indica vs. sativa strains (body high vs. cerebral high) and you will find differing levels of CBN and CBL to be responsible for this.

When you vaporize cannabis, you are creating a temperature that is just hot enough to vaporize the THC without burning the plant material. So by vaporizing, you are getting (for the most part) only THC inhaled.

That's the basic reason for the difference in the two highs.

@Nunc, I'm sure the FBI would be more interested in someone with an adoration for Stalin and authoritarian rule than a couple of kids who use drugs recreationally.

Considering the FBI has no reason to investigate drug matters, I'm not. That's what the DEA is for... and they aren't interested in small time, recreational, pot smokers. (and considering I don't smoke or use any drugs any more(completely sober for a year now), they'd have no interest in me at all.)

Admittably, I may be somewhat unknowledgeable regarding drug laws in Somalia, Frostorm. But everywhere else, the cops can v& u 4 a long time for possession of drugs. Especially marihuana, since it is a gateway drug.

I do not live in Somalia, you should get a bit more informed about the laws worldwide. There are actually more than 5 countries that have Marijuana possession for personal use uncriminalized. So not, in my country is not a fucking crime, and shouldn't be in anywhere else.

You're forgetting about the Netherlands where it is decriminalized...

Possession of under 2 oz of marijuana in my state is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine. You realistically don't know much about drug laws, it would seem.

NOTE: If you live in Thailand, I suggest you stay away from drugs entirely. If you live in the U.S./Canada/Netherlands, smoke your fucking heart out. (Do realize that there may be legal consequences)

But my point remains, the FBI doesn't give a fuck about some kid who smokes a little grass on the weekends. I think the number of Americans who have admitted to trying marijuana at least once is ~40%. The last 3 presidents of the U.S. admitted to smoking marijuana. (And the current one admitted to using cocaine)
