Why should we have any advertising in the status updates window?

Fairest way forward IMO. Allthough I find it usefull to advertise in there. maybe once a day is a better rule?

I think no advertising statuses are fine (and obviously I'm one of those that it would affect)

The only reason I use the statuses is because many people do NOT check the trading board and just look at the statuses (since they're right there). If it's forbidden, there will be no temptation to use them since it will all have to be isolated in the trading boards

I think this simple issue is causing way more drama than neccessary

Not sure whether my opinion on this counts for much but thought I'd chip in

Although I've advertised/requested things in my status before I'd welcome a ban - it's something definite that is not left open to each members interpretation. Thats what the trading board is for right? And if somebody is really looking for something then it's not like they have very far to go to look!
