Well, I just came back to ChaCha thinking it was going to be like my last experience.
But now it's just so slow.
Maybe it's just the time I'm coming on.
Any how, you said 'due to InfoSeeker limits' I searched through the ChaCha forum to see what that was but couldn't find any info on it.
Could you please inform me?
Yeah, no problem. Same thing happened to me, but came across it in the forums after some others had asked.
You know how customers could ask so many questions to Generalists/Specialists, but when they ran out they'd get the "Please rephrase the question or ask LuLu" message?
Basically the same thing is happening to Expediters now - we have limits.
So...
They first run out of Ge/Sp questions Ex answers them or forwards them on.
If they're out of Ge/Sp limits then Vets will (try) to answer them before sending whatever the "out of questions" message HQ has set up.
However, if they're out of Ex AND Ge/Sp questions then it should go strait to Vets.
QUESTION LIMITS
You probably know that ChaCha places limits on the number of “fully guided” (aka Specialist-answered) questions that a customer can receive. ChaCha has a complex algorithm which controls these limits over given time periods. Starting this week, we’ll also be introducing limits on some customers’ Expedited answers. The reason won’t come as a surprise to active Expeditors: you know that some customers ask an inordinate amount of questions.
We are introducing this change on Thursday morning, and will be tweaking the algorithm as needed to provide the right user experience at a manageable cost. Just as with fully guided questions, the Expedited answer limits will vary by customer, depending on many different factors.
In my opinion, it pretty much sounds like they had the brilliant idea to create VET to enforce limits to EX so they only have to pay $.005/question instead of $/02/question rather than enforce a price drop on Ex & piss everyone off directly. (Yet
supposedly the VET role had zero effect on Ex, and that it is solely these limits that have cut our traffic to a crawl.)
NEW GUIDE ROLE: VETTER
Hot on the heels of the new Affiliate guide role, which shares some characteristics with Specialist guides, we are introducing another new Guide Role, and this one bears similarity to expediting, only it’s faster and more streamlined. We are calling these Guides “Vetters” because they vet, or review, potential IKNOW answers.
Vetters will scan and select good answers (even combine two answers into one) to provide a human touch that is much quicker than a typical Expedite session. Many of you volunteered to help test this role… and your feedback has been super-helpful! Later this week, the Vetter role will launch.
Would you like to take part? Expeditors can add the vetting role, which pays a half-cent per speedy task. The pace is fast and the work is less complex than expediting. Simply send Feedback with the issuetypeChange Guide Role and we will happy to add the role for you.
Because some ChaCha traffic will now be redistributed to Vetters, we anticipate fewer sessions per day will be Expedited, so to minimize impact we turned off Expeditor recruitment.
We’ve said many times that the reason ChaCha offers multiple Guide roles is that different people excel in different situations. Some guides are best-suited to rapid-response Expediting, others do better with Specialist or Affiliate tasks. The Vetter role opens up new horizons for Expeditors, and we’ll be shifting some current Expeditors into a Vetter-only role on a trial basis. We think many will like the feel of this less structured role.
Changes at ChaCha are always exciting but can be nerve-wracking too. We want you to be reassured that ChaCha is growing and building for the long term. And if you have questions about the new Vetter role or other changes, don’t hesitate to speak up. Thanks for all you do!
It doesn't help that if you do decide to be an Ex/Vet (omg I wouldn't wish this hell on anyone; stopped working these next 30 days until I can switch back to JUST Ex, even at a slow rate) that it'll no longer work in Chrome and you'll be forced to use Firefox or a Firefox clone that supports the toolbar once more.
