A classic topic that me and my friends have had discussions over countless time. So far our current plan is this: We break up into 2 teams, one team goes to steal a U-hal (or some other big moving truck) Then they are to go a home and gardening store to stock up on supplies to start a garden, and fencing material, while team 2 is to go on countless raids. First a hunting supply store, simply shoot anyone that gets in the way, zombie or not. Load up on weapons, ammo, camping supplies, and if you can find it those instant meals that seem to last forever. Second is to raid pharmacies, once again shoot anyone that gets in the way, to get general medical supplies, antibiotics, pain killers and other such things. After which we gather back together and get organized. After which we begin driving North. If these are the slow moving zombies and are undead the plan is to go north to a colder climate. The cold will help to slow them down making it easier to dispatch of zombies without the use of firearms (a slingblade is my personal preference). But the fencing supplies will be used to help secure the camp grounds. Seeds of course to start a garden to help conserve the use of the instant meals. Next comes the hard part, we capture a zombie. Why take a risk like this you might ask? Well it's for information, to find out how long they can live without food mainly or how long before their body decays enough to where they are not a threat. After two to three years of living in the north, it is our goal to return home. Why wait so long? Because I live in the south, if you leaveanything out for long it tends to decay fast. So we wait out for the majority of the zombies to rot more or less. Yes we do realize that there will be newer zombies from those survivors that were not that good at surviving in the long run. But once back in town our goal is to take over a high school. Once again, why a high school? This is the south. Most high schools are already built like prisons. Thick windows, few entrances, fire resistant. A modern Day fortress with just a few modifications being needed. The roof of the building is to become the new garden and can also use it to collect fresh rain water. Any tree's and buildings in the area are to be taken down to give a clear mile radius view. After this we start expanding our "clean" territory, we go scavenging for any materials that might be useful inside a building (no more than 3-4 buildings a day for safety reasons) and then proceed to burn the building down to prevent it from becoming occupied by a wondering zombie. After this we begin to build a wall around our area, and start building new homes. Then we begin to start broadcasting on a radio that we have set up this new safe haven, continuously expanding the walled area as the number of survivors increase.
I do not claim us all to be excellent marksmen, but we do all have experience firing a multitude of guns. There are twelve of us total, 4 who have carry permits and do own their own guns. Another 5 of us have guns located nearby that we can easily access. Yes this plan may seem a little cold hearted but this is the zombie apocalypse. Survival of the fittest.
