Introverts aren't boring? They're just not super out going and like their space. There's PLENTY of ways to be "fun" as an introvert.

And here's the brunt of your issue; you're the one who's being the debby downer of your group because you don't want to do the things that they want to do. I'd be pretty pissed if one of my friends came to my birthday party, I asked her to dance with us and instead she sat around and did homework. That's just being plain rude. Sometimes you have to force yourself to do something you may not want to do in order to change yourself. Change is only enacted by taking yourself out of your comfort zone. If you're not even willing to do that then nothing is going to come about into making you more fun.

Introverts are /really/ boring. There is nothing LESS interesting then watching someone do something nerdy on their own. (In my opinion.)
Frankly, I KNOW that I should not be reading at a party but I don't know what else to DO, which is kind of why I made this thread :p
I mean, I guess I could play Pokemon on my DS instead, but yeah. ^_^. It's not my scene but my friend really just wanted me to be there so how could I say no? An excuse to get out is good enough for me. I like .... belonging. Im tired of being alone all the time. Posted Image

If you needed to study, couldn't you just have told your friend that and skipped it? It's better to skip than do something like that.. At least you'd still have a shot at hanging out at a later date. You want to belong, but people don't want to hang out with someone who bums everyone out :/ It'd go something like this: "Omg did you see so-and-so? With her book all night?" "Yeahh what the Hell was that? Let's not invite her again". If you didn't have the exam, would you have socialized? Did you like/know anyone there? (Other than the friend, because she'd be all over the place talking to everyone). I went to my cousin's birthday a few years back, didn't really talk to anyone since I didn't LIKE/KNOW anyone there.. No surprise that I never got invited again :/ Oops.

Oh.. the people there weren't so superficial like THAT.
I knew most of them from the cafeteria at school, its normal behavior for me and they know it :p
I think they were more surprised that I actually showed up :D

We really... aren't... boring though. We always have something to say that usually doesn't sound moronic or something to do sans booze/drugs/dancing that involves other people if you think outside box.

I agree with Ladida though; if you had shit to do you should've just given a polite "Aww, wish I could but I have to study for my final. So sorry!" To me this is much more acceptable than going somewhere to be social and than not being social. You're not belonging that way, even if your friends do know that's your behavior; it's breaking social norms.

Next time something comes up to do with your friends and one of them asks you to dance with them, why don't you just nut up and do it. I HATE dancing. Two left-feet. But with our generations "dancing" now days, its very few and far in between of the people who can actually dance. It's really just more moving to a beat. I used to not dance but now I do. I look like a moron doing it but so do the 95% rest of the people around me.

Like I said, in order to be more fun you have to put yourself on the line; nobody else is going to make you do it. Instead of asking what can make you more fun you might want to look inwards and figure out what makes you un-fun so that you can go about changing it. Once you tread the waters you may realize it's not so bad and may actually find something you and your friends have interest in. This is what makes friendships after all, shared interests that are fun to do together.

The hardest part of making a change is making it for the right reasons.
If you're trying to modify your behavious for the benefit of other people, then it's not going to stick. If it's for you, and you alone, then you'll have better luck, because as you see the results you'll be more inclined to carry on with what you're doing.

    And also, ignore iargue.

You always complain about your life, so wouldn't the logical course of action be to listen to what you say, and then don't do it?

Shes not asking for advice on how to have someone special in her life. Shes asking how to have fun. That aspect of my life has never been lacking.

ANYWAY, jcrgirl. Like others are saying, if you want to be fun, then be fun? No one can do it for you.. and it seems to be difficult to give you advice when you keep being hard on yourself. =/
You're only boring if you THINK you're boring.

Usually posting the kinds of threads you do and half-naked pictures of yourself garners that attention. :p

But I mean, it's not my fault... I have never felt comfortable around a lot of people at once.. I'm ok 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 or maybe 3 tops.

I think we all know what Jakes word of the day is! ;D

Hey jcrg! At the end of the day I know many many people who feel the exact same way as you do with large groups of people. Its hard to feel comfortable with so many people you don't know very well. But I think maybe your issue lies with self confidence? If you were 100% happy with yourself you wouldn't really care about being with 1 or 20 people, and you could just get on with stuff you wanted and the people who judge can feck off.

Some people dance, some people watch, some people get drunk, some people stay sober. Your not alone hun, and from all the times I have talked to you I have enjoyed your conversation and humour and I would describe you as "fun" any time! Your a very intelligent girl and I'm sure you probably are aware of most of what I'm saying but being with 1 person, or 10 people shouldn't matter much, just act the same.

Hm, no I think I'll continue my efforts to maintain the sense of detachment I feel when posting on online forums such as this.

I do however, appreciate your apparent concern with my social wellbeing. It's good to know that deep down, you're actually quite caring.
