Really in need of a new laptop and thinking about getting a new one, Lenovo appealed to me, I don't do much on the computer that requires much of anything but sometimes I do game pretty casually so when I do, I'm a fan of RTS so games like Starcraft 2, so I want to reduce lag and this seems good for me. I don't have much of a budget, but I want something that has good value for what it is.

thoughts?

If you want to run Starcraft 2 on the highest settings then your overpaying. Just get any i7 and it should run Starcraft 2 well. You don't need a 2gb graphics card.... 1 gb is enough. And you really need 8 gb ram? ....
I can play any game on the best settings with my laptop that costs only $1000. I have 6 gb ram but I think 4gb is all that you really need.... I have an i7 as well.

I do regret not making my own laptop. I could have saved so much money :/

I think it only costed $100 something to upgrade from 4 to 8 so I was like fuck it.

If you want a super powerful computer then yeah it's not bad. Overpriced for most modern uses though.

I upgraded mine from 4gb to 6gb and I regret it. 4gb IS PLENTY. I can also play Crysis 2 on best settings soooo just saying your paying a lot for a laptop.

Holy crap at those savings
1.7k is a bit too much for a casual gamer, and for the 4gb/8gb, its like buying a large drink or a small drink. Is it really worth it?

Depends if the drink has alcohol into it.

It's only like $160 for double the GB though I think

You can always add more later

I think you're massively overpaying. Head over to the ncix forums and ask for advice there. For casual gaming you shouldn't really go over 800. Spend half that now on an awesome rig, stick the rest in a term deposit for ~4 years and then when it matures get a new computer

if you're just going to casually play some games and else stay with web browsing, etc. lenovo isn't really the right brand for you imo.
lenovo is a business brand and it fits into the expectations of those business needs, but for a casual gamer and normal end-user it's definetely not worth it (especially as they tend to be way more expensive than other laptops)

so my personal recommendation is to just look for a cheaper alternative that has enough power for your needs ;)

This build would probably be better for you, I would get this myself if I had money. :D The build you have right now is more..workstation oriented. The Quadro Series isn't really meant for gamers.

2 MP webcam is CRAP. Trust me I have it myself. Blu-Ray is freaking overrated. All it is .mkv files which "can't be played with a normal player" but you can play it with VLC media player or other media players that you can get for free. Basically your paying 150 dollars or so for a piece of crap that you don't need.
What you need is 4gb ddr3 memory.
Unless your storing a lifetime supply of porn... then I see no reason why you need 750gb... 500 gb is plenty.

A 1gb gpu is good enough for sc2 on extreme, 4gb ram, i7 is extreme overkill i'm running sc2 on extreme with 4gb ram, a 1gb gpu, and like an AMD Phenom II X2 550 (which is shit by the way)

Pretty easy to do with non-porn movies. My 2TB external is basically full. <_<

i5 2500k is fine for gaming. You don't need an i7 unless you're using programs that require multithreading, etc.
8 gigs of ram is better than 4 and not that much more expensive
The main concern for you is a good video card; get something above a 560 or a 5870 and you'll be fine

This. Only time I would say anyone needs an i7 is when they're processing huge amounts of videos/renders. Other than that there's not a real big difference between them.
