My account (well, atleast the account I'm willing to AB on), is less then a week old. I've got enough money to start ABing. If I get advanced membership, should I stick to certain stores to minimize risk? What stores would be profitable, yet less risky for new accounts?

Avoid magic. Advanced isn't dangerous as long as you aren't too greedy with your times/shops, plus the age of your account means you won't be getting anything too high profit.

Pharmacy is pretty good if your account is less than a week old, You could try going to books to get Gourmet Cooking for your Pet, but i'd stick to Pharmacy.
