I'm quite liking a review I read today of the episode which said:
I almost wish I hadn't read the books. The series is done so well (and in my opinion, the books do start to drift a bit as they go on) that I think I'd prefer not knowing when huge game-changing events are about to happen!

Heh that's a good one too! I really want to read the books, I started book 1 but only got about a third of the way through it.

By the end of the most recent one I was skipping entire chapters. The problem with constantly killing off characters, is you have to introduce new ones, and when that happens 4 books in you're already so heavily invested in what's happening elsewhere it becomes hard to start from scratch! With the POV system, I just didn't bother with entire storylines in the later books. So eventually events will start shocking me in the series!
In other news, crying shame that Jack Gleeson is quitting acting after GOT. He's so delightfully hateable whilst still having a strangely childlike vulnerability to him.
And Sansa and Tyrion's marriage is sweeter every week. Bless the pair of them.

Same, the knowing who is going to die and how, makes the show much less interesting.I'm quite liking a review I read today of the episode which said:

tiny choices made by Tyrion and Joffrey finally hitting the fan

Characters one becomes invested in being killed off is actually part of the appeal of the saga(at least to me), that's one of the main reasons I don't like:
Regarding Sansa and Tyrion:

I have no objections to them being killed off, it's when there's a need to fill that space with a new POV. Could never take to Davos as a POV character for instance.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, DAVOS IS THE BEST?!?! HE WILL SIT IN THE IRON THRONE, ALL HAIL THE ONION KING!
Point 1:
I guess I agree, but how about not putting them through ridiculous situations instead?
Point 2:
Nothing to discuss here, we were talking about two different things.

He also clearly has the best accent, that alone is worthy of the throne.

Trust you to say that. Bloody northerners.
