I just wanted one scene.

   Whyyyyyy?! It would have been such an awesome ending. And must be about the only scene left from ASoS...I was so hopeful.

 

Same! I watched all the way through the credits to last HBO end screen just in case. But nope

 

Still - with quite a lot of characters coming pretty much to the end of their AFfC/ADwD story arcs maybe they're trying to stretch the material they've got a bit further?

 

Oh well nevermind, just makes the wait for s5 that little bit more desperate

Yeaa I was disappointed by that episode.

I liked the Stannis parts especially the walking-away-from-an-explosion-without-looking-back-strut he did with Davos. Also loved the resignation on Varys face.

I can understand why they didnt include them, but I'm still disappointed. I wonder what a good relationship between the Lannister brothers will change.

 

Although, they did confirm that the mountain will become Robert Strong.

 

Season 5 can't come soon enough.

She is going to Bravos. So when she escaping the capitol as a young boy (I wanna say season 2), the night she was captured she ended up saving some people in a burning cart (... if memory serves right). One of them was from Bravos, Jagen H'ghar, who was a man "with many faces"-ish. Anyways he gave her 3 assassinations requests and she took 'em. But when they parted ways he gave her a coin with instructions to Bravos if she ever wanted to learn the ways of his type... like the faceless people. Shit explanation, but I hope you remember.

Yeah to be honest I am confused about that change to the whole Lannister brother dynamic

 

In the book it's such a huge betrayal. The only member of Tyrion's family who ever really loved him and the person he was closest to lied to him for years and let the girl he was in love with get repeatedly raped, knowing she was just an innocent girl.

But in the show they part ways as good friends (which was really satisfying to see on a different level)

 

Plus the lack of '...and moonboy for all I know' will change Jamie and Cersei's relationship I woulda thought.

 

 

Interesting stuff.

I think from this point on I'm just going to try and think of the show as it's own thing and try not to compare to the books

I know I am interested to see if they are going to split Jamie and Cersei up now like they did in the books.  Also if they dont how are they going to send Jamie away to shore up the lands so to speak and will he then release Arya's uncle

It was so interesting, because by not killing him she was showing that she had scratched him off her list--yet by keeping him alive It was not giving him that compassion that he completely begged for. What an ironic middle ground.

Reading from the beginning will probably take me 2 years -- I don't have time to read the whole series . This next week is going to be slow at work, and then I'm getting surgery next week, so hopefully I'll be able to see and read from the book where the season leaves off.

You NEED the epilogue of book 3 but apart from that I think you can start with book 4 if you can't be bothered to double up on what you've seen...

You'll have to read a bit of Bran that's already happened in Game of Thrones I think, fairly sure we're a little further ahead with him and also potentially a tiny bit with Dany but I thiiink it's only the book 3 epilogue that hasn't happened.
