Not a viable profit model.

We can't guarantee the forum will exist forever so it wouldn't be right to offer a permanent subscription option.

I'd be wary of any site which offers a permanent subscription option particularly if it's a new Neopets forum because they tend to come and go pretty regularly. It seems to me that offers like that are just a way to get the site owners a quick lump of cash. :/

I believe neocodex has been around for around 8 years or so. :p Anyways it was just a suggestion for a permanent subscription cost; if it is ever introduced. :p

It won't be.

Although, admittedly, that's what used to be said about regular subscriptions anyhow.

We've put this off long enough but I think it's time to add a 10 year sub.

We probably wouldn't be here still if we hadn't introduced subscriptions. It was necessary to introduce subscriptions, a permanent subscription option isn't a necessity though so I'd say there's very little chance it would ever be introduced.

I thought that too.
I saw a site offering a 'life membership' and (actually this goes with another thread about the fate of neopets) I thought what a silly idea it was :/

Yeah this is the second time we've had this exact conversation in less than a month... so we should probably make either a reference thread that is locked upon creation or otherwise make a VERY BOLD statement in the FAQ's pertaining to this topic.
