I'm trying to get a feel of whether new users would like to be able to join using their Facebook or Twitter accounts. It's a bit hard to ask new users, so I'm asking you guys. If you were to join today, would you use Facebook/Twitter connect to sign up? I might just enable this anyway to see if people use it, but I wanted to get a feel of whether it would be used first.

I wouldn't but I've learned from experience that starting a new account where it's associated with a Facebook account is convenient for sign up but after that, say I'm at a public device or no longer have that Facebook account then it's a lot more work trying to sign in. Creating my account purely for that website, registering with my email, that makes it most convenient for signing in elsewhere.

I rarely ever join using facebook connect (dont have a twitter so twitter connect isn't an option). Its just a personal preference of mine...

I would use twitter to sign up especially if I could skip putting in a bunch of information.

I would use Facebook to sign up if I wasn't so paranoid of sites posting shit on my profile. And I don't have a twitter.

I'm in the same boat as Bone. I like to stay away from anything that might mess with my profile. The only thing I want posting on my profile is myself/friends. :p

Twitter might be alright I guess. I don't use it because I think it is the most retarded thing ever, though.

I probably wouldn't use either, simply because I like having separate accounts for everything.

I'm fine with either twitter or facebook mainly because it is easier for new members to sign up.

I wouldn't use either because I don't want people I know seeing this forum :p

i wouldn't use my facebook nor twitter because I'm not sure what would happen if a few NeoCodexians found out everything about me or my real life connections found out I play Neopets (only 4 know and accept, but there are many others who would be overly curious).

I don't mix and match. I prefer completely separate entities.

I wouldn't use Facebook connect because too many people lurk my profile.

Do either sites actually announce at all that you signed up for them? I haven't seen Twitter do it at all.

I like keeping my real life separate from my gaming life. Face it, do any of you even know my real first name? Mishatu's an internet identity I've built up for years, and I like to keep it that way.

If twitter kept it anonymous I wouldn't have a problem using that to connect and it'd probably be less hassle which is a plus. Like most, neo (and codex) are my dirty little secrets.
