I never answer the phone either way. I locked up in my room way too often to even hear it ring. ' b '

If I don't know the number I don't pick up...my saying for phone calls is, "If it's important they'll leave a voicemail, if they don't leave one, then obviously it's not important and I won't call them back."

I cannot tell. Don't have any way of knowing such as caller ID. Through since a call could be important I would more likely answer it. I did get in a situation once when these foreign people kept calling us asking if we would like to have our house cleaned by them. Called like 5 times and during those five time every time we said stop calling us. We almost changed our number but then these people started to call about duct cleaning. Lucky that only happened twice.

Yes. If it's a spam call, I have some fun.

I don't usually answer blocked calls, but it it's just a number I don't know I answer it.

I really hate talking on the phone. No one ever calls my personal phone. And when I'm at work, I act like I'm too busy to answer the phone. Answering an unknown call means I'll have to speak to an idiot. And I'd prefer not to.

I answer all phone calls. If it is a recording I promptly hang up. Telemarketers usually get a polite but firm decline. I rarely have to hang up on a real person but I am not above it if they are too persistent or act like they "won't let me" off the phone.

I rarely get any phone calls though.

My phone provider only lets us screen 13 numbers, and they sell the numbers to telemarketers, so the phone rings pretty much off the hook all day. I've had to turn off the ringer and stop using my phone completely because of it. Even with being on the 'do not call' list.

Sadly they're the only choice we have for phone service in the area. I'd get a cell phone but I live in an area that gets no cell reception either, so I'm pretty much screwed there.

Answer pretty much being, no I don't answer any of it.

What country do you live in?

I do the same thing. When it a telemarketer, I am like "I am not interested" as soon as they start. If its a recording (I know because I start to say hello and its already talking over me). I find that I almost never get phone calls, except when I do, I get a thousand in one day, and multiple at one time. Its a nightmare.

Oh man recorded messages make me so angry :fyou:
At the weekend we got SIX recorded messages about bloody PPI Insurance Claimback in the space of one hour. I've just pretty much stopped answering the main phone, I leave it to go to answerphone and if a human starts to leave a message I pick up.

I liked trolling unwanted callers particularly people trying to sell me shit or trying to scam me which has been fairly frequent just lately.

I used to... Most of my spam/scam calls are from non-restricted numbers. Luckily, my Galaxy Nexus allows me to send specific numbers directly to voicemail. This is incredibly handy for assholes I no longer want to talk to as well as these spam calls.

Every time that I answer an Unknown call on my personal cell it is always some charity or non-profit/political action committee that I've donated to in the past calling to pester me for money. I always tell them that I only donate online but they are so persistent... Worst of all, they all have this 30 second speech that they throw at you before you get a chance to tell them no thanks. I've decided to just stop answering unknown calls... If it is important, the person will leave a voicemail with a number for me to call them back.

So I decided to answer two unknown numbers today after reading this thread. One person asked for a Miss Mental (wtf??) and the other asked for a girl, and then asked what the street address for my number is.. The person had called my cell phone. It really felt like I was getting trolled, but the numbers were landlines with different area codes. I'm going back to not answering those calls.

My dad is a doctor, so his number is blocked. 99% of the time I get a blocked call, it's him, so I always answer.
