One of the worst technologies invented? ( I shouldn't even say they invented this technology. Worst implementation of this technology)

I'm impartial when it comes to Instagram, but it is annoying to see summer pictures burned with a sepia color by Instagram to make it authentic. Now multiply that by 8 and seeing those tasteless pictures spammed throughout mmy FB feed.

The #catsofinstagram tag is what keeps me living, so I'm biased.

Being a photographer, I'd say Instagram isn't photography...at all. It is just taking a mediocre photo with your phone and adding some hipster effects on it.

However, Instagram has allowed many smart phone users to use their phone camera more often I suppose? It has also sparked some creativity in some of them and I've personally seen some amazing shots on Instagram, all taken with their smart phone.

This is why there is Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. =) I have never tried Instagram but looking on Google images the photos look bad with this applied.

As McAwesome has stated, its a far cry from actual editing 'software' BUT it is however, quite handy while on the go and I too, have seen some quite remarkable photos taken using the Instagram app. If I wanted to add that stuff into a photo though, I would use Photoshop or something along those lines as you can get a much cleaner looking effect doing it this way.

i have a RAGING HATE FOR INSTAGRAM i hate it so much
i have a friend who uses it for convenience because you can post to facebook, tumblr, twitter, flickr, etc at the same time.
and i've considered it but i don't wantthat ugly "posted with instagram" thing on all my posts.

honestly people think their photos are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS by adding a little sepia or vignetting but really i find it ugly and cheap and overused and this was an unpopular opinion i think

I just find it funny that a few of my friends think if they take a picture of some daisies or architecture or something with it they're suddenly this indie photographer

Whatever, I'm pretty ambivalent towards it myself. Let the hipsters hip.

I think the photos look good. I probably would use it if I needed to spice up pics on the go.

I used to use instagram, but then Drak told me to stop so I don't use it anymore.

I don't really care one way or the other. My favorite part was browsing other people's photos on it. People take some awesome shots. It was kind of like tumblr for me for a while, except without reblogging.

And really the camera on the iPhone 4 is so good, most photos look great with no filters at all.

Most of the people I follow on instagram don't even use filters. But then again I mostly follow fashion instagrams and cute pet instagrams.

I don't dislike it, in fact, I have the app myself, but they way some people use it is just...

Good girl.

I find your lack of relevance disturbing.

This is probably the reason i dislike it, all I ever see are ugly drunk people on my newsfeed in sepia =\

The colour of the text in your avatar reminds me of this:

I'm just tired of people posting photos of themselves anywhere online that are edited.

Seriously, I never see any of my friends post normal photos that aren't edited anymore.
The member pics thread here reminded me of that. Almost everyone (especially the females) photoshopped their pics. :p

I thought Instagram was a site where people posted pictures of their food.

That's all I see on there anyway.

Photoshop is more for graphics manipulation.

I use Lightroom for photo processing. Makes things so much easier.

I love to hate/ hate to love Instagram. I believe in what happens on Instagram should stay there. When people put their awfully photoeffected pictures up onto Facebook, I gag.
