Basically like on Neopets...buy the item and resell it. Except it's harder on Ebay, because you have to think of the fees and stuff. So does anyone do this?

-edit-

The reason I made this is, because I've thought about doing this several times, but then backed down every time thinking it's a terrible idea.

Sorta counts at reselling but I buy coins fro the bank BU 2012 and resell them for $0.99 when I only paid $0.05. I am a coin collector. XD

I'd say it depends what you're buying to resell. If you know a product well enough that you know what price to buy it at, then resell it, then I'd go for it. Be sure to know the shipping costs around you though and think if you want to sell around you or internationally. I personally just use craigslist because I hate having to ship stuff, but of course that has its downfalls (sometimes stuff is hard to sell, people want stuff really cheap, and people are pervs).

Depending on where you live too, there's goodwill and other discount stores where you might be able to find something worth reselling on ebay. I see people do it a lot when I shop in those stores (never done it myself).

Also if you're into making stuff and selling, you could always give Etsy a try (sometimes I buy shoes for cheap and paint them, then sell them - it's fun!) ^_^

Anyways, good luck to you if you decide to go for it. :)

I do sometimes, I usually only dabble in Neopets Merchandise. :p (Pre KeyQuest Plushies)

I'm an avid serious collector of their merchandise. My collection would make some people weep. xD Haha (Probably about $3,000 worth or more) and I have quite a few items that are extremely rare (some I've never seen for sale) and that you can't "buy"

I would buy and resell video games/ systems. The hard part is just getting the games for cheap obviously. (with video games, most people make their money off shipping) The systems you can get great deals all the time, it's the fees that kill you.

I would think this would be one of the hardest things to sell.

If you mean reselling for profit, maybe maybe not, if you mean selling in general...a ton of video games sell every day on Ebay for shelf price...even if they are used sometimes.

I know a few people who did that, but eventually switched to sites that were specific in what they were selling (Etsy for example, as was mentioned). They all switched because the fees were too high on ebay.. Don't know any sites specifically made to sell video games or consoles though :\

Obviously for profit. Otherwise it's a waste of time.

If it's video games, I would try going to a local flee market or something that might sell them. They might be cheaper there to buy, then resell on ebay. Ebay is crap sometimes with all the fees. I only like to use it to buy things I can't find anywhere else.

Discount bins at stores work too :p. Just have to sit in the store on Ebay and searching up the games they have in them to see if you can even make a profit.

    -edit-

A lot of people sell clothes on Ebay, or make their own bracelets and crap and sell them on there....I have no idea if they sell though.

I have to beat the game first before anyone even thinks about buying the gear I want to sell for real money :p. Also...they need to allow us to sell gold right now!

    RACIST!

Let me preface by saying; I know how annoying it is having gold and power leveling ads spammed in general chat - But here's my little story.

In my younger years, I bought gold from a Chinese "virtual currency business" in various MMO's.

In one particularly large MMO, which I won't name - I decided to order 2000 gold after chatting to an enthusiastic Chinese 'sales rep' who could barely string a coherent sentence of English together - But despite the broken grammar and Engrish, this person was chatty, friendly and polite and I went ahead with the order.

I was told to wait in game for the 'farmer' to trade me. Within 2 minutes, I saw a laughably goofy looking level 1 character running around in a rather confused manner outside the bank. There's my guy! I shot him a whisper, he replied with a ':D'

Trade is opened, 2000g is placed in the trade window and we both accept. Done! Amazed at this guys efficiency and heartwarming use of a smiley, I whisper with a "THANKS!!!". Again, he gives me a ":D yor wlecom". Awesome...

He goes rubber banding out of the bank on his crappy Chinese latency connection and into the sunset.... But something about this gentleman intrigued me. I felt compelled to learn more of his mysterious, controversial trade. I whisper with "wait!". In the distance, I see his head stop bobbing as he comes to a halt and does a 180 keyboard turn to face the bank.

I run over to him and trade him about 1k gold of crafting materials that I'd had lying around for a week. He gives me a "WOW TENK U! :D"

I 'lol' and proclaim that it was 'np!'

He logs off, presumably to go and meet his next 'customer', I carry on with the game, 2000g richer. A mere 2 minutes pass and I receive a whisper "hi im in bank come", or words to that effect.

I know immediately who it is, and I gallop towards the bank. A fairly well geared character with an obviously Chinese name complete with generic pet with default name is staring at me. A trade window pops open and is filled with 500 of the most powerful potions in the game.

He hits accept immediately and so do I - I whisper "Wow! Thanks very much, man!" - And I meant it, those must have taken countless hours to gather and were worth a fair bit if sold off in stacks. He replied with a ":D" and logs off.

From that day on, he'd log in occassionally and we'd briefly chat, mostly in smilies and broken English. Sometimes we'd even party up and I'd go and help him farm the 'latest circuit' and learn a few things in the process.

We ended up exchanging MSN emails and would chat there too. He'd tell me about Hunan province, where he lived and send me pictures of the area, the place he worked and his 'coworkers'.

A genuinely great guy just born into different circumstances than us first worlders are born into, just trying to get by. Give peace a chance!

I attempted to sell some Harlequin romance novels on eBay that I had picked up for free. Low price. Totally failed. :/

Here's an example to possibly try to resell a game console...

    http://www.ebay.com/...=item337888d48a

If it stays at that current price ($122.50 at this time) with the shipping of $20.00 that's $142.50. Now, it's barely used, so basically new. This thing could probably sell for 190-200 bucks. Charge $20.00 shipping.... 210-220. Now after Ebay's 10% fee take off 20 bucks so...$170-180 bucks. So about $30 profit, not a lot, but it's profit.

-edit- You could probably even bump up shipping to $25. More profit there...honestly people don't care about the shipping on consoles and stuff...they know it's going to be up there.

Sometimes you do. People are idiots and can't always tell the difference between 'broken' and 'needing charged'.
