Why are you using the Neocodex programs that you use now?
Besides the obvious --"want to make fast nps & not do anything" or something like that (x

Like, too busy with work, too busy with school, experimenting with programs, just genuinely curious, neopets was ruining relationships, etc xD

I guess this is sort of an icebreaker to get to know everyone a little bit better?: D

Mine is because I've fallen behind on my sleep and I need to take naps during the day :p

What's yours?

I was heartbroken when I lost my main about 10 years ago that was 100% legit and amazing. Since that day my hearts turned cold and I have been using programs since. Honestly I don't know why I enjoy using them. Maybe because it's a little more hassle free. I don't have to spend hours on end logged into neopets. If it wasn't for programs I can probably guarantee that I wouldn't even be playing neopets. Maybe occasionally but for sure wouldn't put in enough effort to have more than 500k neopoints rather than my current millions.

I just wanted to finally make a million NP. Never did that before in my life.

I used to spend hours a day buying and reselling and sniping. Was completely legit, then I got cg'ed and lost 80mil+ hard earned points. I report it to tnt and what do they do, ice my 9year old account. Then because I used a fake dob to sign up they didnt want to unfreeze me. Soo I made a new one and the rest is history.

I used to restock manually and play neopets properly but it wasn't something I could keep up for a long time. I still want to make neopoints, I'd just rather do something else with my time so that's why I auto buy.

If I play legit, I could earn 3 million/month with minimal effort If I RS, I could earn that much in 3 days depending on my luck, also with minimal effort. If I add in legitimate restocking, I suppose I could make more, but I find a lot of the money-making meta-games (RSing, sniping) on Neo incredibly dull, repetitive and time-consuming. The more fun stuff, like their flash games, are capped at amounts like 3000 NP per game every day. That's a drop in the bucket compared to the way NP has inflated. I mean, I understand the value of rare commodities and the 'gear treadmill' concept of a multiplayer game that keeps players chasing after the metaphorical carrot on a stick, but when you have a huge wealth/effort divide between players who are cheating (and no one will ever convince me that anybody in the BD chat is a fully legit player :p) and players who play legitimately, it just becomes a matter of: Well, if you can't beat them, join them.

For me personally, if Neo just tunes the amount of NPs you can earn from games higher and for it to be more skill-dependent & more interesting - higher scores = higher rewards (maybe items?) - I'd be more inclined to play legit. I'd still be competing with people who score send and cheat, but it would feel like less of a waste of my time to me because I'd be having fun playing the games.

I still play neo semi legit (no abing), but I cheat because I want nice trophies, and I hate playing stupid refresh games.

    I *heart* AoB ^_^

I still play legit in the sense of not using programs, but with the way I've been funding my account, I've had more NPs in the last 4 weeks than I've had in 10 years of playing. I've accomplished most of what I wanted. I might go after some game avatars w/ the programs eventually. But for now, I prefer to stick to my methods. It's the same mindset I have when playing Pokemon xD Beat the Elite Four, then duplicate master balls to fill the Pokedex.. Hahha.

I used to play legit too, always playing games to earn NP and restocking, but I always wondered what it was like to actually use a programme that would ab items from shops. So ever since I discovered the auto buyer here I've been using it and making some NP's out of the items I ab.

    It's pretty neat xD

    Very well said. :)

Personally, I use NC because I can, it's easy, and I love watching programs do the work to get trophies for me. :p

I don't use AB at all... yet. :p

I play legit on my main, but I AB on different accounts. I started ABing, because I randomly got iced while I was on vacation 8 years ago...when I didn't even sign in for 2 weeks. I notify TNT about it, never got a reply or anything so that's when I decided to say screw you guys, I'm cheating.

I was legit for a long time and had some modest battledome successes before I quit neopets 5 or 6 years ago. I came back due to people talking about neo on tumblr and I saw the pictures for some of the new pets and decided I had to have them. I slowly got sucked back in, buying NC, FQ cookies, etc. and I wanted to create and customize more and more pets. I was considering autobuying but I was making 150k/day with my level 50 habitarium, until it glitched out. Then I went all in to ABing and I haven't looked back. I may stop soon since I'm running out of pet slots to customize, although I'm kinda getting pulled toward the BD-- I hate it, but if there's a war coming then the points I earn from it may be worth important prizes.

My reason for using programs is petty revenge. I want to destroy Neopets from the inside out, but I just seem to help them in the end with more page views and economic flow. So I gave up that thinking and just find ways by using neopets to benefit myself beyond childhood reminiscing.

Kind of the same here. A relative of mine got on my account one day when I went to the bathroom and I got frozen for foul language.
I tried to get my account back by explaining the situation to TNT but they refused to listen and told me that they would never unfreeze my main.

Something like this. TNT froze my account without a valid reason and I take my vengeance cheating I guess :p

I'm in university, so I can't really spend too much on neopets.

Plus, i've made my first million finally. It's just so much more easier cheating than doing it legit.

After being frozen for playing legitimately, my view is just fuck it... Why not!

Easier than toiling at playing repetitive games or refreshing in a shop for hours.

Similar story, I was iced (unfairly) about 8 years ago when I was 100% legit. Started to play legit again, rebuild, then they added in type codes for restocking items, which totally threw my game off. I used to have a great deal of pride, I was an excellent legit restocker. Codes turned into pictures, ect, ect... basically, they iced me, ruined my capability to make any sort of decent np compared what I was used to, so I began cheating. Now a days, it would be neigh impossible to compete restocking against the sheer greater numbers of Autobuyers out there.

Plus I grew up. The only games I ever played were NQII, Invasion of Meridell (now defunct), and Pyramids. More often that not I'll throw the AoB on and play Fallout New Vegas on PS3, or any number of more entertaining games than the ones they provide.

So I guess we can all agree that the reason for cheating (directly or indirectly) is TNT (x

I'm sorry for all of you that have been screwed (REALLY) unfairly by them, but at least now you get the thrill of vengeance :D

TNT/ Viacom is killing themselves anyways, the site will eventually die, half the people for TNT will be out of a job. Technically they're screwing themselves over.
