The vague concept of race is not normally applied to an anti-religious basis, while there may be the direct sons and daughters of the twelve tribes, there are also historical converts to Judaism like the really neat people of Ethiopia.
It is a subtle point, but since race has less meaning than any serious person should consider, we must all agree that Batman has always protected every citizen of Gotham, there are a lot of Jews in Gotham, Batman protects them too, equally and without hesitation.
Plus, Batman was originally penned by a Jewish Team, so that would really be messed up if he's an example antisemitism.

Race just means a common heredity or descent. Traditionally many Jewish people consider only people born of a Jewish mother to be classed as Jewish so there's a clear descent down the female line.

Well when I was in school I was told that for something to be a race is requires a genetic distinction. It can be passed down matrilineally but it is also possible for people to convert to Judaism. It's tough as shit, but possible. I can't convert into being a Pacific Islander as much as the tumblr transethnics would looooove it.

A race is classified as an ethnic group. If it was purely based off of ancestry, then there are potentially 7 billion races at any given time since I could just as easily consider myself a new race then.
Well when I was in school I was told that for something to be a race is requires a genetic distinction. It can be passed down matrilineally but it is also possible for people to convert to Judaism. It's tough as shit, but possible. I can't convert into being a Pacific Islander as much as the tumblr transethnics would looooove it.

Plus calling Jews a race is the same as calling Atheism or Christianity a race, and I don't see that on any census.

That's why it would be classed as both a religion and a race. It's not like other religions such as Christianity where there isn't really a common heredity or descent involved.

Your logic is this:
Is there a common ancestor? Yes -> Race. No -> Not a race.
Does Christianity have a common ancestor? Yes, the Romans of the Mediterranean. Christianity is now a race.
Do all of my offspring have a common ancestor? Yes, me. I am now a race.
Your using the biological classification of race, something significantly different than the sociographical one.

Regardless or not if I am using the biological classification it's still somewhat of a race. There is a distinct matrilineal (I think that's the word anyway) descent which can be traced back and there is genetic differentiation because of that.

You can't just pick a classification that only vaguely backs a point. It isn't a race. They are not an ethnic minority group. If you want to use the biological classification, then there is no "race" in the sense that you use it. We are all from the same kingdom, order, tribe, and genus; animalia: chordata: mammalia: primate: hominidae: hominini: homo: sapiens.
It's not a race biologically, it's not a race ethnically.

If you want to use the biological classification, then there is no "race" in the sense that you use it. We are all from the same kingdom, order, tribe, and genus; animalia: chordata: mammalia: primate: hominidae: hominini: homo: sapiens.
It's not a race biologically, it's not a race ethnically.
So how do you define race? I'd like to see how I fit into your classification system.

Jewish is not a race, unless you're one of "those" that want to exterminate them. You can become Jewish by conversion. Your children can be Jewish, does not matter if you're 31/32 of Scottish Highland descent you children can be Jewish.
Race and Breed are silly terms decided by silly people that want to categorize the "them" into another group, so they can by-pass the universal prohibition that we have against killing.

Exactly. Most people who identify as Jewish do so in some combination of ethnicity and religion.
