So, neopets has created a 'Fansite Directory', currently listing two JN sites, and SN. You can submit your own, or 'nominate' someone else's to go up on the page. Opinions?

And just out of curiosity, what's the bet that you'd get frozen for recommending Codex?

That just says that the user applying agrees not to "create, post or distribute" those things, they don't seem to have edited them to be applicable to fan site submissions.

Hmm, it does this does make me want to create my own fansite though...

Recommended fan sites have a few extra perks that go along with the title. Not only are they linked in the Recommended section of the

Fan Site Directory

, but we also add the fan site URL to our filters so that players can share its glorious links anywhere that text can be posted on Neopets. (Plus, there are a few other perks known only to those who join the ranks! And a secret hand shake.)

How hard would it be to create a fansite "seperate" from codex, purely for the point of feeding information? I suppose it depends on how much digging they do when choosing them...

The problem would be that a brand new fansite would have much less chance of being accepted anyway purely because it is new and wouldn't be very well known.

Plus, since we already have our own Neoporn section, there's not much they have to offer. Our presence on Google alone is pretty awesome.

I'd imagine there's plenty of Neopets players who use things like our Item Database anyway since our results are pretty prominent on Google when searching for the names of most Neopets items.

Yeah that's true, how hard would it be to fake popularity though, considering you aren't allowed to post about non-approved sites anyway? If a site was made, add some decent content, create some graphics, and put one in each illicit account/shop you have (for me, this is plenty ), and some nice keywords...?

Knowing tnt, this probably would be all they give you. But is still ruined my dreams of plot hints, and them taking your site suggestions seriously.

Hahaha I was laughing my way through that just before xD Thats true, almost everything I search regarading Neo has codex come up on the first page somewhere How does that work though?? Edit: Just matching keywords?

Haha..... I just wonder how many people would be willing to make the codex the fan site on the neopet. Because once more and more people know what we do, our retstock or other activities would be much difficult.
