Much better.
You mention a Mr. Eaton, without any explanation about who he is, or why he would be procuring a jersey.
Reminds of an essay I wrote in 2nd grade in which I used and misspelled the word "rock" as "roch" over 25 times.

My excuse was the wooly mammoth ate the bark that I had written my homework on.

just some design tips to make it look better:
the composition is not well distributed on its space. the title 'the maple leaf' is touching one of the edges, while the text is way too far from the bottom edge... the text is too close to the image too. and I also think the text font is too small, and the text would look better if it was justified.
but overall it's good! (: I like it

Just FYI - to justify text in Photoshop, just go to Window > Paragraph, and then a little window should pop up with justification / alignment options.

Justified and made the text a little bit bigger.

I don't love the newspaper story, though. But I guess you can only improve with vigilant practice and constant public ridicule.

was to remove a couple of errant inverted commas.

I assume it is more for a journalism project, and getting the who, what, where, why, wtf is more important than some of the flowing syntax.
I have found that children do not respond to constant public ridicule in a positive manner. While it still appears to be a honoured technique in the teaching profession, it just seems to discourage young souls.

Your poor, poor boyfriend. Some people deserve to be discouraged. "Work harder next time and try not to suck so much." that's my motto.
