It seems to be yours since you just wrote me an essay trying to justify being a douchebag to people. It's perfectly reasonable to have a sense of tact when trying to debate someone, but you constantly resort to name calling which leads  me to believe that you just look for excuses to put people down. You're constantly putting other people down when it's completely unnecessary  I've had plenty of debates with people where we have completely different opinions and yet I don't go "I disagree with your opinion and you're not validating it to me to my expectations, you are stupid" that's a petty and childish generalization to make and it's not going to sway anyone to agree with you. And this isn't even about debates this is general opinions being posted in general chat. People don't post in general chat expecting to have to defend every post they make, sometimes people just want to have a simple conversation. If they want to debate, they'll go to the debate forum for that. You on the other hand seem to turn everything into a pissing contest and show off your amazing e-whit. It's played out. If people have a problem with me and don't say so, that has no bearing on my life, it's not going stop me from letting people know when I think they're being childish.

Well I know for a fact you read my PMs when I was in cahoots with Laura. Instead of just asking me if I told her she was up for advanced you read our PMs. Some of which contained information I know you were working to discover. Not that is a big deal to me anymore, especially since I told you most of it anyway. But still..

We have discussed this before, but as Sweeney already said, investigating site issues is THE reason we have access to read people's PMs. You know I didn't look though to get whatever information you think I wanted, if that was the case I would have done so long ago, not waiting for a legitimate excuse and I wouldn't have been stupid enough to tell literally everyone on the site that I did it. I thought you had broken the rules, asked the rest of the staff what we do in that type of situation, and was told to check your PMs. I'm sorry it offended you and ch33p but you DID break the rules.

Not quite. If you recall, I said something along the lines of "reading PMs that I wasn't supposed to," to which this situation does not apply.

If anyone would care to explain any other time that I have read PMs of someone else's, I'd be greatly obliged. Really, any other time. Even if it was warranted.

Sorry but aren't mods supposed to prevent or end needless drama instead of childishly exacerbating the problem? As a mod, you do have a duty which unfortunately doesn't allow for your seemingly endless desire to seem better than the next person- a need which quite frankly makes me wonder whether you are mature enough to even be a mod?

So the admins believe that it is fine for mods to create drama as long as no rules are broken? Doesn't reflect well on any of the staffing team, though it makes the admins look especially incompetent when they have mods directly involved in drama creation.

I'm not an admin and don't speak for them. I'm just pointing out that nobody in this thread has broken the rules and 'creating drama' both isn't against the rules and is very subjective. The staff are here to enforce the rules and moderate content which would be in violation of the rules, this is not minority report.

I appreciate the fact that you're not speaking on behalf of the admins, and that their take on the situation will only be known once they comment- but I know that I speak for more members beyond myself in saying that having a mods participate in childless ego driven antics DOES reflect badly on the rest of the staffing team, and the site itself.

 

A mod, as you said, ought to enforce the rules, and should lead by example. If any of the mods are unable to lead by example should they be a mod? No, they shouldn't- effectively all they are then is a member with privileges waiting to be abused.
