I'm bored.

There are a few things that I can always respect in people, basically they're things I can't do, but wish I could do.

An example: play piano well. It's very difficult to teach yourself piano, and it's very difficult to keep at it. Sorry, but I'm not really impressed if you can play guitar. I Feel that's common. I also respect anyone who can play the drum kit, 'cause my sense of rhythm sucks ballsack.

I respect anyone who pays their way through university on their own. I'm lucky enough to get scholarships from my dad's work, so I pay almost nothing.

I respect anyone who is able to balance school, work and a social life. I feel I'm pretty balanced with all these things and it's hard as ballsack.

I respect anyone who is a good boyfriend/girlfriend at a young age. 'Cause i feel many people who are young are so fuckin' flaky that it's almost rare to find young people who are in good, healthy relationships.

I respect anyone who stays in shape, but is able to keep a conversation and doesn't need to constantly talk about working out.

I respect anyone who knows the difference between a virus and a bacteria. heh heh.

I respect anyone who understands my jokes, because they're sophisticated as fuck.

I respect anyone who has children at a young age and steps the f*ck up to raise them. Putting their children's needs before themselves, or their desire for freedom.

I respect anyone who has the motivation and drive to stay active and take care of their physical health.

I respect anyone who will stick up for the underdog or stand up to a bully.

I respect anyone who will set a goal, and not give up until they've achieved it.

I respect anyone who has done great things but is humble enough to acknowledge someone else's small victories.

I don't respect anyone for any one simple reason.

People are complex, and very few of them deserve respect.

You mean like, even the basic amount of respect, that every other human deserves? Thank god you're not in a position of trust like a teacher or something..

I respect people who are honest.

    I respect people who try.

I respect people who used to be addicts and are doing things with their lives.

    I respect good parents.

I respect people older than me.

I respect people who don't 'deserve' it.

I respect people who are braver than me.

I think I may have ta agree with ya on this one. Then again, lots of teachers refuse ta trust us students much, if at all, which is kinda disrespectful, wouldn't you agree?

Which makes a good start for one o' my reasons for respectin' my English IV teacher; she respects us, fully, 'n trusts us. I mean, c'mon, we're her all-senior class, my class is :)

I also respect those who respect others 'round them.

I respect those who express themselves, no matter what the rest of the world has t' think about it.

Those who are willing to stay after they're done to pick up the mess of others at lunch or breakfast at school when no one else will or has and without being told to; that's character right there.

Those who can still smile in even the saddest moments o' their lives, after the worst has happened to 'em.

People who are willing to stop on their way somewhere jus' ta cheer a stranger up 'cause they look down. Wish I knew their names still, 'n this was months ago tha' they did this.

And, of course, those who respect me.

Hope I ain't gettin' too deep with all this stuff here ">.>

    Probably the best answers here.

    On topic:

I respect people who have ambition and strive to better themselves rather than cry and do nothing about their situation.

Yeah, but I'm starting to think I may want to stop now (hiding something under "Spoiler" doesn't get rid of it, obviously).

Alas, and I am limited to my usual, formal speech.

On topic, though, I would have to also agree with your prior post; all of them are definitely respectable.

I also respect those who are addicts quitting for one they care for, whether they be family or friend. As a close friend to an addict of many different things who refuses to listen to me on this topic, I know how hard it is to hear about what they're doing and see them fade away because of it. I've lost so much, if not all respect towards him.

    Let's see here.

    Some of the obvious...

    •  When anyone goes out of their way to help someone out. For example if someone drops some papers or groceries or some shit, and someone stops to help them out.
    • When people hold the door
    • Yes mam, yes sir, please and thank you
    • people who actually fucking pay attention to their surroundings while driving....

           and then

    • Anyone who can play the piano (sorry for stealing this ;P) But seriously. I want to learn so bad. My husband says he'll get me something to learn on when we finally move in together. Fuck yes.
    • People who actually know how to take care of / interact with their animals and don't treat them like humans or inferior creatures. (when someone yells at their animal and expects them to know what they are saying and why they are angry... there's a difference between proper discipline and just being a jackass)
    • anyone who enjoys watching educational tv instead of the normal shit, and enjoys learning in general
    • people who understand the importance of things like math and english
    • people who make the effort to know what they are eating and eat healthy
    • Optimistic people. Those who don't whine about how much their life sucks..... instead they look for a way to make it better.
    • People who can drink, smoke, or do whatever and still be a functioning member of society.
    • Anoyone who can draw, paint, or do anything creative. I enjoy seeing the various ways in which artistic people perceive the world.

That's all I can think of for now. xD

OOH I thought of another one.

    • Army wives. Or anyone that has to deal with being away from their SO for a long time. I've only been away from my husband for 4 months and that shits no joke.

No one deserves respect. Respect is earned.

What a sad state of affairs. Everyone deserves, well in my opinion entitled, to a basic amount of respect for human life. Respect can be easily earned and lost as well, but to say everyone starts with no respect is quite worrying.

I agree a wholesome amount of respect is earned, but to give someone politeness, civility and decency is still respect and should be given to anyone unless proven otherwise.

If I can find decency to respect people and be polite to people who have assaulted me, spat at me, threatened to kill my family and the old attempted murder, how hard can it be for someone to show everyone a bit of common decency in the context of respect?
