It's not immoral just because you say it's immoral.w

Well, actually, technically, Immorality is subjective, so yes, if Nitro says it's immoral, it's immoral. In his opinion.

The rest of your post makes sense, I guess, but I'd definitely argue that in most normal relationships terminations are usually discussed and decided upon by both parties (male and female - and rightly so).

I have been asked that question before. If you are only asking to judge my opinion, i have no response. If you are asking because that is your current situation, then you need to seek help from a trained professional in a formal setting. If you are genuinely interested in the answer, there is plenty of literature available online that can help you out. I personally would never choose to have an abortion, irrespective of the situation.

Your lack of response to my post is telling.

Some people do die to give birth to the child, so it is kind of a question of whether you would value the child's life more than ones own. If one chooses to abort in that situation, it would still be am immoral thing to do, but I can empathize with why one would do so. Lesser of two evils again :p

Choosing not to die is immoral?
Did you know that suicide is also a sin, which is functionally definable as "allowing yourself to die"?

Kind of a rock and a hard place situation, there.

normal is also relative though haha. And at the end of the day, the decision is the woman's. Especially if there is no "relationship" per se with someone to discuss

What I meant was that it may be his opinion, but that doesn't mean it's right :p There are people that believe having sex before marriage is wrong too, but I haven't seen anyone struck down by God for it... yet. And I agree that she should talk about it with her partner, but at the end of the day, it's still her decision. If he wants the child and she doesn't then she still has the right to get an abortion.

Well... that's because God doesn't exist.

And true, but like I said, most normal relationships would discuss it and decide like adults (by normal I'm discounting the rape / one night stand scenarios).

I'm Pro-Choice, there are many reasons that a woman could want to abort and it shouldn't be anyone's decisions but her own.

    BUT...

Although for me it's tough in situations where the woman just doesn't want the baby for the sake of having to take care of a child (as abortions can be rough on the body), there are alternate options such as adoption that should be considered.

Also I feel like the father should have a say as well (assuming there are no other complications with the woman), he's part of the equation, the baby is half-his essentially. Just because the mother doesn't want to go through pregnancy, you are denying a father his child, doesn't seem right.

This is all so controversial and everyone is allowed their own opinions and beliefs.

Exactly. Except some other asshole's opinions and beliefs shouldn't stand in the way of women doing what is right for their own bodies and having a medical procedure performed by a doctor.

As for the potential father's rights... eh. If your woman doesn't want to have kids, but you do, you two either need to have a serious talk about it before getting pregnant, or you should go find a woman who is actually willing to reproduce with you. And I don't think if a woman gets knocked up, the fetus is 'half' the fathers. He doesn't carry it half the time. He doesn't get milk tits or gain weight. He doesn't have to endure the months of backaches, gas, nausea, etc. Certainly he should have a little sway in the discussion, but ultimately it is a matter of what is best for the woman involved.

I feel as a male I shouldn't have much of a say in this, it's not my body so I shouldn't force anything upon anyone.

that being said, if it were my choice,I'd say yes because again. it's not my body, I shouldn't make that choice for someone else.

Just because it's legal doesn't mean you have to get one, it provides safe opportunities for women who aren't ready to make that step yet. Or were forced into it.

it also keeps unwanted children from going to terrible foster homes

also prevents the mother from having a reminder that she was forced into the situation [if that were the case]

or forcing the mother to raise an unwanted child with very little assistance, money wise.

until the unwanted lives that already exist have real homes and families, adopted or otherwise. I will be 100% pro choice, no matter the circumstance of how she became impregnated.

Even then, I'd still feel the same, it's wrong to force someone to give birth.

Pro choice, world's overpopulated enough as it is, why destroy 3 or even more lives just in the name of bringing one more potentially unwanted into an already over populated world. An unborn baby is essentially a sperm cell, you commit genocide whenever you cum pretty much.

Are you familiar with the process called "fertilization"?

Unborn baby is unconscious. No memories, no awareness, essentially a developed sperm cell.

His point was that a sperm cell, alone, would never develop into a human under natural circumstances.
In no sense is a foetus "essentially a developed sperm cell".

Why don't you respond to him than make a huge fuss like this? Unless you don't want to because you don't to show people that you don't actually know how fertilization and all works, despite it being clear enough already  ;)

I think women should have access to clinics for emergancys like in the case of rape or if the pregnancy is unsafe of their body. Having sex is an adult activity, which means you are old enough to understand what sex is about and what happens if you do not protect yourself accordingly. If you cannot handle possibly having a child, maybe you shouldn't be having sex in the first place or you make sure to protect yourself very well. There is no good excuse not use protection if you do not wish to get pregnant. There are so many clinics, even free ones that you can access for free condoms and birth control (or at very little cost). There isn't really any real excuse not to protect yourself. I say, if you get pregnant and maybe cannot afford the child, adoption is a good option. There are many women who cannot have children and would happily adopt.

Also, women do not understand the effects of what having an abortion can do to you. Physically and mentally. Sometimes, it can making keeping a future pregnancy harder and risk misscariage or not being able to get pregnant again. Woman can feel regret and self harm.

A lot of it comes down to education, knowing about sex and pregnancy and discussing it maturely instead of like it's some taboo.

I had a class on this topic in school, it was really interesting to hear it from both sides but the violinist example really stuck with me.

You can read about it on wiki if you're not familiar http://en.wikipedia....n#The_Violinist

And yeah, in some cases you can say people could have been less careless blahblah but at the end of the day it's the woman's body to do what she feels she must.

I'm Pro-Life... but with a lot of strings attached, and some of my reasons might be stupid, I don't know.

A fetus, to me, is life.

Pro-access to comprehensive sex education and pro-access to contraceptives, in my perfect world, everyone would have a wonderful and informative sexual education, and have free/cheap birth control available to them. This is how it was for me (unfortunately this isn't everywhere), at 15, I was able to get on birth control, without my parents knowledge, and it was free, they made this extremely well known throughout the school, they constantly had fliers and always attended the health fairs my school would have.

To me, as long as you made an attempt to not get pregnant, you should be allowed a choice. By being on birth control (even if you take it incorrectly), purchasing condoms, ect, then you have the choice to get an abortion should an accident happen. You were smart, you did the best you could, and something didn't work, but at least you tried.

Also, rape or similar circumstances are able to choose as well.

I know it would never work, though.

So... someone who chose to take a risk, and "lost" would be forced to have a baby?

It is not just "education". This is like saying because people who were educated about HIV and still got it should not receive treatment because they should have never caught it. And now before anyone mentions it, I'm excluding corner cases where the infected person was forced.

I don't see the big deal if people are using abortions as a safety net for unprotected sex. If someone can handle it maturely and emotionally then why remove that option and force them into a having a child they don't want?

I could possibly see the downside of the financial implications but then again I live in a smart country with the NHS.

I'm not well educated on the pro-life pro-choice debate. My opinion is by no means flawless, and as I stated, it would never work.

If anything, I suppose a more correct way to state my opinion would be pro-choice, but that choice shouldn't be a light one. It should be a last resort.

And abortions are pretty cheap compared to raising a child for 18+years.

In a perfectly horrible world, everyone would just be made infertile until they're ready to have children. xD
