So i was at work today, we were working on creating thumbnail previews for custom themes that customers make. The thumbnail is generated from a background image they choose (it can be ANY size). So my task was to take that image, and grab a 16:10 section.... There are a few ways that this can be done, but im not really here to talk about that. Part of the conversation was spent talking about the best ways to go about resizing an image; and during this dicussion this method was brought up and i figured id share it with some of you artists :)

Umm....wow O_o

Maybe I'm stupid, behind on the times (as I'm not an artist or anything of the sort) but this blows my mind.

I believe they implemented this in the more recent versions of Photoshop, impressive stuff anyway.

This is a very very logical approach to resizing images and makes total sense to me xD

I found training videos / video classes really helpful. I'd suggest you try to get a hold of some Lynda's (http://www.lynda.com...ials/279-0.html) or TotalTraining's (http://www.totaltraining.com/training/adobe/photoshop.asp) tutorials.

Great guide! I've been working in CS4 for the past few years; all self-taught, and any new tutorials on the program are bookmarked, studied, and appreciated!
