Is there something out there that you hate for no real reason?

I'm not talking about something where you have your own strange reasons for hating. E.g. I hate the grocery store "Safeway" because it's the main competitor of my old grocery store in Canada haha. Dumb reason, but a reason.

 

For me, I hate the show "Big Bang Theory" and I've hated BBT for a long time now.

 

But when people asked me why I hate it... I realized I don't actually have a reason. I just do. I think that it's quite overrated, but I think many things are and I don't hate them. But when someone mentions BBT  I just think "Ugh God please don't" and basically judge people who enjoy the show.

 

Another example is the artist "Drake". I have no freaking idea why I hate him. I think he's quite talented and his music is catchy, has a good beat at times and the music is sometimes really good. But I hate him. I didn't know him on Degrassi (Canadian show) or anything. I don't think he's a sell-out and I think he's much more talented than many artists who I enjoy (*cough* Katy Perry, Ke$ha, *cough*). But for some reason, as soon as I learn that a song is by Drake, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth even though I probably would've enjoyed the song if I thought it was by a different artist.

 

If you don't have any, share things you hate for really dumb reasons or just something you hate with a crazy back-story if you want.

I hate it when people my age and some guy friends use the emoticon, in their text messages.

Add a stabiliser! Technically, the egg whites should do it, but they're pretty tricky to get to form a proper liquid gel. Modernist Cooking recommends Activa RM for preventing watery egg mixtures from weeping, but I'm not sure if that'd prevent the rum pooling completely.

As a corollary to that, I hate when people immediately do something you say you hate because they think they are being original or clever.

Example:

"I hate when people type in alternating bold caps."

And I hate when people don't know when to stop.

Yeah, I didn't have the issue when I made my own over the summer, but it's eggnog season so we bought some already made.

If it makes you feel better, Bog, Safeway was bought out by Sobeys.

BBT has that "I'm playing Super Mario 64 on a poorly coded Nintendo 64 emulator" bit that just makes me cringe. It's not that the joke is bad, but it's that the writers thought any normal person would understand it at all. I pretty much blindly hate it for only this.

I can not stand people eating or chewing near me. It just completely bothers me, so I get really mad when people do that. And while they're eating I'm silently cursing them in my head.

Nope. For liking the same characters: You must know how and why I like them. And never proceed to say anything against that. Sure you can have your own reason for liking them,just don't have a stupid reason.

EX: Draco Malfoy

Me: He has a sad backstory, plus he hasn't really done anything that evil compared to others.

So if you liked him, I'd be fine with a reason close to that one. If your only reason is "because he's hot" or something like that..you get hate.

Disliking EX: Malfoy

Me: Sad backstory. 

So you can like Harry just don't shove it straight in my face and proceed to tell me why he's better. Or fangirl anywhere near me, that just makes me want to throw you off a building. 

 

For the eating thing: Get more people. I can't deal with a small number of people eating around me. Large numbers are fine, which is why I can eat lunch in cafeterias without screaming at everyone.  With a large group, the eating isn't as easily identifiable/heard as it is when it's a smaller number, since everyone is doing it. 

 

All of my hates can be managed a certain way.

Yep. I do try to control it, but I couldn't actually think of another example right at that second. I can easily take it out now, I thought of something better.

I hate people who suddenly dislike something as soon as they hear another person likes it.

 

For example-

Me "I like this new song by bandasshole."

Them "Wow you've heard of that song? I guess it's getting too main stream, I don't like it anymore..."

 

I could understand if the song gets played so much that it gets sickening, but disliking it because others have become fans is pure idiocy. 

My house mate does that shit.
