If you were TNT, and you wanted to keep ABer's away, how would you go about doing so efficiently?

Nice try TNT...

It's unlikely that he/she is someone from TNT, but I was making a joke :p

Sounds like something TNT would ask, though :p

Really, even in Charter? I thought the people in there were nicer (not that I've ever been there though).

However the explanation provided by OP does make some sense, and even if they don't use that exact 'formula', I can see how it would work. I'm not too sure about points being cleared every month though...

It's a perceived niceness on the outside but with a rotten core in the care of many folks, unfortunately. :(

Charter is like Mean Girls. I knew how this would be settled in the animal world. But this was Charter World. And in Charter World, all the fighting had to be sneaky.

    Exactly, Keil!

Put a real captcha in. Log more data, run of the mill multivariate analysis jobs running frequently to classify suspect buys.

They're restricted in their captcha options because they need something really accessible which covers multiple languages as well as young users. The current one fits those characteristics but, as we have known for years, is ridiculously simple to solve computationally.

Still though, you'd think they'd take the time to make one that fits that criteria, but is much more difficult to solve.

That's not easy, and Neopets hardly has the money to invest in a groundbreaking captcha system.

Even the web's most popular (but far from the most secure) captcha system, recaptcha, was pretty quickly hacked.

    this:

This account has been FROZEN for the following reason:

This account was using a 'cheat' or downloadable cheat program.

If you think the above reason was applied to you by mistake, please contact our support staff byclicking here. Don't forget to include your USERNAME and explain why you think your account should not have been frozen. If you DID break the rules, please do not contact us again. Your account will NOT be unfrozen and you will not get your Neopet or items returned. But, you are welcome to create a new account, as long as you follow the rules.

Remember to read our Terms of Use thoroughly.

They could improve it a few ways with minimal expense and effort but we'd still beat it tbh, they probably know that it's not worth it. The irony is that the captcha is only an impediment to manual players. :/

I got frozen on December 7 last year, aka "a date which will live in infamy", for abing. I hardly abed much last december except on hpd. I really doubt there is much more freezing at the end of each month.

Sometimes, I still catch good items with times that are slower than my legit times. You'd be surprised at how empty some shops are at times. But of course, good luck legiting stamp and magic!
