Hey, my pet is currently in league 10

 

lvl 275-300

HP: 250-275

defense: 550-575(12 defense boost)

Strength: 150-175 (3 strength boost)

speed: 200-225

Intelligence: >1000

 

50 million np Set:

Bomb: ghoskerbomb

Stealer: heavy robe of thievery

Healer: crisp blue tunic

freezer: heavy blue tunic

shield 1: hubrid memorial shield,

shield 2: faerie tabard

dual duty: hanso charisma charm

constant: glittery faerie dust

 

Relevant faerie abilities: lens flare, warlocks rage, icicles

 

I do get annoyed a sword of reif a bit, but the faerie tabard usually takes out 10-15 fire icons alone (my opponents usually have 4.5 strength boosts at 200-249 strength if we have similar hp or 5.5 strength boost but 70-80 less hp). 

 

My fighting style is mostly a defend and occasionally hit them with the dust that most defence style pets can't block effectively. Also I can't KO most pets after a freeze since my max damage is 115-140 range while i have been one shot KO'd by pets with 5.5 strength boosts after a bomb, icicles ability, and anagram sword for 260-280 hp (i really don't know what to do against this).

No real input on the item set, but I'd suggest either Jeet Kun Do, or Drunken Boxing as your fighting style. I've heard both are pretty effective.

Doesn't anyone want to take battledome seriously?   HCC and CBT are interesting choices.  HCC is good on the  rare chance your opp uses dark, but as you can see from your own equipment on most players its sort of useless.  You might want a second good constant.  The CBT semiuseful healer, but very situational.  You sure you don't want to do a species healer or the 50% healer?

It could be that if management actually wanted to expand their user base, than promoting a little serious battledome talk with weapons and strategy is an useful idea.  Some people take battledome seriously, Drake Arvil has an interesting battlepet and is trying to get into league play by bringing an armored pet with excellent shields, taking advantage of some tricks in the rating system.   He's trained and equipped with good weapons.    Treat his effort with a little respect, or have the courtesy to tell him that you don't want our kind around here.

"Everyone's"? I don't think so. Besides, it's not really much of an imposition to skim over a joke post. It doesn't prevent anyone with a useful opinion from posting - instead, it keeps the thread active and more likely to be noticed by someone with serious contributions to make. You, for example, didn't post on the thread for at least twelve hours after it was posted. Would you have seen it if it wasn't bumped by me and Plunk?

Perhaps expanding into serious PvP battledome discussion is a viable arena. I would say that it isn't - it's a tiny niche of Neopet's already-diminishing userbase. There are specialised websites elsewhere that provide much better information and tools than we do. High-end BDers aren't going to want to associate themselves explicitly with a cheating website.

So, I don't think his "effort", whatever that is referring to, is deserving of respect, nor am I discourteously being dishonest in my responses. "Your kind" is very much welcome here. As a part of the whole, not as a special snowflake.

I don't think anyone in this thread was joking at the expense of the original poster. Accordingly, there was no mockery.

Then feel free to use it. Sweeney's pretty respected here for his opinions and ability to debate. If you don't want to deal with it, feel free to use that ignore user function. (This is literally the same as someone getting mad on someone on xbox live, and then refusing to mute them, instead opting to argue with the person about why the offender should mute the offendee.)

 

That being said, this is a NEOPETS FORUM. There's no need to take it so seriously. Calm down, take a joke, and relax. I assure you, it's much better for everyone that way.

 

Also, I'm pretty honored to be lumped in with Sweeney, by Sweeney, in any way shape or form, even if it is just him saying we both bumped a thread.

If I wanted to listen to  a clown,  I would go to a circus.   A potential future user asked a serious question, and you do not have the sense to understand that he deserves a serious answer.   No wonder this place is dying.  

 

Jinq is right, if you are known in league play they'll just use a sword of reif or ari against you.  That is the problem with those two shields.   Your own weapon has a particular joy because of its randomness, but since others have higher icons someone can just out pound you blow for blow.   Still your strategy is not without a certain beauty to it.   If reflection worked you could fill the gap.  

 

What is your league's system for rating?

rating is 179.6. 

 

Well my robes are just there in case they ever fix the glitch. I have HCC because i don't have any dark blockers otherwise. my shields give me some defence against sword of ari and sword of reif (but only 1). I guess i could just replace the robe with a clawed shield and could replace the dust with fan of swords for constant icons. 

 

the bag of healing dust only heals 135 health while the BCT drains 100 for net 200 hp, so BCT is more advantageous. I am also a tank build so i can usually control my life loss.

How much damage would you do if you get this combo? I'm sure that would be enough to kill a similar league pet

Ok, I was wrong about your healer, for your build it is the right one.

 

I would tell you to put the stealer into the SDB until that works again.  You might as well carry a good muffin or a 14 icon flask of fire for those rare battles when your opponent is frozen  and you've fired your GB early OR you're losing and you throw caution to the wind and go for a tie.

 

Considering you've already invested many millions on your set,  isn't a Thick Smoke Bomb cheap enough to win a few more league battles?     

Jinq, that is why level has become more important than strength or hp.  Someone without W. Rage is going to lose to someone with WRage, because you'll use your freezer during that round.  That effectively gives you three unopposed weapons against your foe.   Most times, the battles are two rounds of throw aways, LF vs LF, then WR vs WR, they you launch one weapon with your freezer.   I carry a MMoM so I might get a few physical through.  Then there is a frozen round.  Only on round five do things normally get real interesting.

Interesting, Mibs, I never thought they messed up BD this bad.No wonder why I rarely see many people asking for 2p fights on the BDC anymore.

 

Now, my newborn can beat chia clown a billion times.

 

And snowager can deal 10k hp damage in one hit and multi freeze your pet.

 

Seems like level actually has a use now but agility is still useless.

 

I wonder why they capped our attack and def boosts at 750 and limit our use of some abilities but don't cap 1p boosts and ability uses. Old BD was so much better.

The old battledome had problems,  the demigods of the battledome had all maxed out on 1-player and really didn't have anything to strive to achieve.

Agility is really useless, although for awhile my heavy robe of thieving worked just fine.   It was fun stealing from Apathy, it greatly extended some of my battles.

 

I've heard that some of the demi-gods of the battledome have defeated the Snowager on insane.  I am not one of them, my strength and defense are only 650 and I will be training for awhile.  Sometimes I'm cancelling if it is a Zed codestone, my heart isn't into as much as it used to be.  I believe someday they'll bring stances back into the battledome, so we'll  have more of a chance at some of the opponents.

 

I think between the battledome being half finished and people not adapting to the new strategy required for two=player that league play is down.
