Scavenging can get you unhatched dragon eggs, and digging can get you treasure chests. I'm not sure if one is more efficient in earning treasure than the other.

Most, if not all, gathering options have exclusive familiars to find, too.
The Hippojay from fishing, for example, sells for up to a million treasure.

Depends on the familiar xD I don't remember which off the top of my head.
I fish in Water, because more drop there exclusively.

Not exactly mandatory - but it makes life a shitton easier. Basically, having six Ambushes across your dragons means you get five free attacks every match. Which, if your dragons are awesome, mostly means you can grind without taking any damage at all.
As you're levelling, it reduces your need to restart by a lot, also.

So... that's why it's expensive. It's awesome
You can find Ambush stones, too, though. They drop in a lot of the lower level areas, albeit rarely.

Discipline boosts meditate, which no one should be using for grinding. If you are using it for other things, it's probably worthwhile - two gives you a 75% chance to double your breath gain.
Field Manual is pointless - seeing your opponents breath has no use! (And if you use the APer, it shows you that anyway )

Anybody got some thoughts on where might be the best place to do the Affection for Reflection achi?

After reading this thread and figuring out a bit more of what I'm doing, I started leveling up my coli team. Should I be using three different dragon breeds? right now I have 3 guardians and it seems to be working pretty well? HELP?!

Exaclted my basic babies. Finally done hatching them~ 
I bought like...well a lot of dragons but so far this is my favorite purchase:

 

Just need to find a female to mate with him ^w^

I love the color scheme on this one. I usually am not a fan of the stripes but it works!

The color scheme is the main reason I got it. I have mostly white or black dragons so color is needed in my fambam.

I actually like the stripes ,but not so much the gemstone things, but it kinda works out.

It doesn't matter, IMO.
My team are all imperials.

You can use whatever, so long as you stat and stone them well.
