 MY idea was to give birth to the next kid in the living room. This is the next best thing.

Couldn't you accomplish the same thing with books/showing the kids videos? I never had a difficult time understanding sex/pregnancy/childbirth as a child, and I've never had hands on experience.

If we have 4 kittens or fewer, we actually have homes for all of them planned already.

While we could use books and videos, there are few age appropriate ones that I feel properly convey pregnancy and childbirth at our library. I don't want them getting the wrong impression or develop a fear, since it's an important part of my life. With a birth we can watch, they can ask questions and have a natural conversation about it. They already know cats and people don't lay eggs.

Oh, I wasn't worried about people knowing what I look like. I've posted plenty of pics here over the years and used to spend a lot of time in TC.

It's cute but man, it fucks them up latter on. My brother had the wackiest pronunciation when he was a kid, and while it was so cute, he needed a speech pathologist latter on While his situation is slightly different, I don't think we should lie to our kids or ignore certain nuances for the sake of cuteness.
