Some of the images are so ridiculous, I initially thought half of them are hoaxes I lauged especially hard at this one:

 

 

What are some ancient happenings you've been a witness to? I've seen the old lay-out which seems ages ago. The oldest plot I've participated in was the Lost Desert plot.

 

I also heard someone say once that Sophie the Bored Swamp Witch was originally a human and not an Ixi, I haven't seen any evidence for it though, but if it were true I would love to once see the artwork for it.

I hated that bar lol. I remember there was something written under it like "this is temporarily" or something and that they went with it for years lol.

I remember coming back from a several year hiatus and seeing the converted kacheek and being like, wtf? It makes me sad that I really don't like the new kacheek design at all, because it was my absolute favorite as a kid and I had all sorts of kacheek merch too. /end UC rant

 

Other than the old layout, I can't remember much else that was really different though.

I remember when the secret laboratory map was somewhere around 18k for all of the pieces and it took me ages to save up for. I remember how the different wines were expensive dream items that I wished for endlessly at the Wishing Well and now they're just cheap juice.

THAT THING IS LEGIT SCARY when I was around 11 and didn't know any better. I was expecting some old art and a mini story to read, but unfortunately my speakers were on max volume. This was during a time when I had nightmares about Jurassic park.

When I first joined, I found a Glowing Gelert in the pound and I FREAKED. OUT.

Now, they're everywhere and basically "worthless". :C

Sifting through the pound for hours looking for rare pets, i still remember finding a ghost chomby and baby zafara.

Ah, I really miss the unconverted Lenny! They used to be one of my favorite pet species, but in the converted art they always look like they're about to burst into a dramatic political speech or something. Even the old old Lenny has kind of a weird charm to it.

 

I remember when I first learned about the origin of the Eyrie. I can't imagine what it would have been like to be on the site in the very early days and one day you wake up and your pet has changed its entire design and its species name? I would have been pissed lol

Ah, forgot about the pound. I remember when there was no pet transfer. My brother quit neo so he said I could have his buzz. I tried to pound it from his account and retrieve it on my own but some bastard adopted it before I could get to it. Pretty sure I cried the whole day.

Definitely miss the old navigation bar, most of the UC graphics. I really wish I'd been on Neo for the Ski Lodge Murder Mystery plot

The UC Kougras! The UC RG and RB Eyries. They looked so awesome.

I also miss the old Neopets toolbar and old Destruct-o-match I game although the Destruct-o-match II can still be played but no longer gives out NPs. I tend to have a higher score in II than in III

Miss the old Kacheek too. I just set up a new account after losing my very well off to do account from 2001. Chose the Kacheek again. It's just not the same, I find it a little bit more easy to gain nps than it was back in the day. And the Change up with the bottled faeries is kinda depressing too.
