apparently the egg thing is pretty much world wide and it's mostly a common pracrice in north america. I read about this not long ago and was flabbergasted.

Our eggs are generally salmonella-free in the UK now but I'm fairly sure most people still refrigerate them at home, I do anyway.

Also, cloaca.

The only time I ever eat room temperature eggs is when I leave them out for a few hours to bake with, and even that makes me slightly nervous.

On a related note, did you know that homemade garlic-infused olive oil can grow Clostridium botulinum (the bacteria that causes botulism) if left unrefrigerated or kept too long?

Today I learned apparently not everyone associates numbers with colours in their head, and that it's officially some kind of "condition" :0

Synesthesia is really cool.

store bought eggs (in North America) need to be kept refrigerated because the bloom which is a protective coating on the egg is washed off. Farm fresh eggs are usually kept at room temperature only because they are unwashed and the membrane layer keeps both good and bad bacteria out. Mixed feelings about that. I'd rather wash them and put them in the fridge because they can get pretty dirty. :/

When they lay the eggs they are wet with bloom and it eventually hardens. You can tell what color eggs a hen will lay by the color inside their ear holes and chick hatcheries get away with selling easter eggers (lay mixed green eggs) as Ameraucanas (lays true blue) by fucking intentionally mislabeling them as 'Americana' it's a really big deal keep your mongrel fucking chickens stop LYING TO US.

We keep our eggs at room temp. As long as the color is right I'll eat them.. I'm pretty sure most restaurants (or at least ones I've worked in) keep their eggs at room temp with no issues.

Oh and today I learned that I'm too old to learn hiphop dance choreography. I'm sad.

I keep my eggs room temp. And eat them raw sometimes. But if anyone was curious, thyme kills salmonella.

I was being a confused weirdo just now when I tried to smoke and eat breakfast at the same time for some godforsaken reason. When I tried to take a bite out of my cig and tried to smoke my spoonful of cereal I learned that your brain just cannot handle those two things at the same time lol.

Most people have their right foot slightly bigger than the left. I thought all my life it WAS the left one. I always try shoes with my left because it's bigger than the right. LIES EVERYWHERE. :(

Beavers and capybura are classified as fish according to the Catholic Church, so they can be eaten during Lent.

There's a pokémon porn called strokemon.

Wow, that was disturbing as hell. That pikachu, I mean, "dickachu" was ugly as a demon. And of course it's made by Woodrocket, they make all kinds of weird porn parodies.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. My brain broke. I'll never see Pokémon the same.

...he walked out of my bedroom this morning with one of my bras on his head, never laughed so hard.
