2009: Got accepted to Rutgers

2010: Failed out of Rutgers

2010-2012: In and out of community college in Newark, NJ

2013: move to Binghamton, NY

Summer 2014: finish my associate's in Business Admin.

Fall 2014: Finally going back to a University, majoring in PPL (Philosophy, Politics, and Law)

I'm a little nervous, just because I don't want to mess up again, it was a really long road getting back to this point.

i have 3 more semesters to go for my architecture degree. new semester starts next month. i'm usually super excited in the beginning because that's when the lecturer introduced new projects and destination for our study trip but as time progresses i'd be like, "oh shit". and by the time the semester is almost over, i'd be like, "god pls don't let me fail anything" lol.

I got stuck in back to school Walmart hell today. I almost sent out an SOS.

I also found out that I have a good friend in my class tomorrow so I don't feel as nervous. Besides, it's a class for my journalism minor so I'll probably know a few faces.

I definitely freaked out in my final year of pharmacy school. It was my clinical year and being so busy all the time made things seem to fly by! Its a very stressful time knowing you have to transition from student to "real world" and it was especially stressful for me because I didn't feel like I had enough experience. Now that I'm in my residency, I've realized that I'll always be overwhelmed by my circumstances as long as I'm pushing myself to get further with my career. If I'm not overwhelmed, I'm not taking a big enough risk.

I'm transfering to Long beach and it's my first "big school". Terrified, but excited. It's uphill sorta so at least I know I'll have some decent looking legs at the end of this~

Aside from dentistry, only medicine starts this early. I'm already unprepared and unsure of what I'm doing with life.

Haha don't worry about it. I just graduated pharmacy school and I still feel unprepared and unsure of what I'm doing with life.

One of the best things you can do is reflect on where you're coming from and where you're going. Be honest with yourself and if things don't seem to be lining up the way you think they should, readjust your approach. Its so easy to get bogged down with all the schoolwork, tests, papers, projects, etc but really immerse yourself in your clinical experiences because those will tell you if you're making the right decision.

Oh I forgot that you're coming to Edinburgh!! Excellent. It's fine, you'll just be drunk for 2 semesters.

Then it'll just be a change of scenery. :p

I wish. Everyone keeps saying that it's the easiest science class to take, but then I hear that anthropology and astronomy are easy too. I don't know. Last time I took Bio was in 11th grade, and I got a D (I retook it because I didn't want a D on my record and got a B but that's not the point)

Ours was great. We read and did math and drew pictures of the house and played outside.

No. Being a grown up is a fuckload better than university ever was. Money is really nice and I like having it. All my free time is my own. Wouldn't go back if you paid me.

Fuck yes it is.  Holy fucking shit do I love making money and doing my own damn hobbies and still getting drunk on week nights if I feel like it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed education and I'd learn forever and wish I had more time to take a formal interest in things I know nothing about...but I love my job, I really like having money and not having to live like a student

Yeah, see, we don't get all that over here...you pick what degree you want to do at 18 and that's that. I did a degree in Music and so I took nothing but music classes for 4 years.

I was in a similar place, except I opted for Engineering at a college dedicated to, well... Engineering.  I took a few other classes, but most of my shit was focused on me graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  I loved the challenge of always learning something new and improving on my skills, but I love the cash flow of being a graduate a hell of a lot more.

I spent half of my first year at uni either hungover or asleep because the first year doesn't reaaaally count for anything.

Come back to me when you show up to an important Senior Design meeting piss drunk from the night before.  To be fair, the Mayans predicted the End of the World around that time... and a local bar had college night where it was a $5 wrist band for all-you-care-to-drink.  I cared to drink enough where I eventually got denied service from all three bars in the establishment.... and pissed on my roommate's couch (Don't worry, I didn't get any on myself).

They give you a list to choose from. Well, with math and language you have to place into certain classes. I placed into the lowest math class, but I had a great professor so I passed. Besides, most of them were alright. I like history and politics. It's just math and science that I despise. But here's an example:

    Spoiler

That sounds so rough. Tell me more.

Picking a class is the easiest part :p

Besides, I'm done with all of that. All of the classes I have to take now relate to my major or my minor. Except for science but that's because I put it off for three years.

He's in the UK, 1st year of uni here really doesn't count. :p Pretty much every course requires you pass and nothing else. Very few people have to do anything of any real importance in their first year, it's basically seen as a doss where you get drunk a lot and then somewhere around exams realise you'll probably fail your entire degree if you carry on at that level.

Indeed, don't think it counted anything towards my actual degree other than letting me actually do the second and third years. As nice as having money is, I think there's still a lot to be said for that time (largely the first year) of having no responsibilities, being able to get drunk as often as you like without having to worry about hangovers or doing something stupid and feeling the need to apologise for it, sleeping as often as you want (and with whomever you like) and just generally being able to do whatever you want in your own time (i.e. all day). :p I don't think I'd mind too much going back to that time if I could have a bit more money with it too, there were certainly fewer boring periods back then (though I'm probably recalling that time with whisky-blurred, rose-tinted glasses on xD).

Today I realized what I want to write about for my senior capstone even though I won't be taking that class until next semester. I'm kind of excited. Maybe I should just start writing so I can be done before the class even starts :p
