That's what I wondered. It must be broken to slide the towels on. It still looks tacky and I would just settle for a paper towel holder.

You know they actually stand up on their own if you put them vertically, right? Seems unnecessary to use something to hold it.

I only ever used 4 and 10 in college. The others seem too desperate and unnecessary. I would try 13 if I knew what washi tape was.

I've done the pen on chips thing, the color coding notebooks, and I've used ripped apart cereal boxes as dustpans. I actually still color code notebooks and folders, because it's really convenient.

It's not that I couldn't afford one, but it was more economical to use something else instead of making a special trip to the store just for a dustpan.

One less drink at night or a cheap plastic dustpan? I'd rather be tipsy than clean.

 

I don't do the cardboard dustpan myself. I lived in a residence hall for undergrad and I can just go to the RA office for a dustpan or ask the nice custodian for cleaning supplies. I never had to resort to pizza boxes or even come close.

Some of these I've seen before, like the pasta in the coffee maker.... although I've never understood why anyone would do that.

And queso in the coffeepot? ......interesting.

I never lived in a dorm or anything, so I don't understand the struggle. xD

Right... they are a dollar. But how much is gas? And how much is your time worth? If the nearest place to me to buy a dustpan for a dollar is 30 minutes away each way, I have three kids to get ready and together, and I'm planning on shopping at the end of the week anyway, why in the world would I take a 2 hour excursion to the store for something that costs a dollar when I have trash already in my home that's free?

The only ones of these I can see being actually a tiny bit useful would be #1, #4, #5 and #10, the others are either silly or obvious.

If I had to wait several days for a delivery to clean some dust up I just wouldn't bother, lol. Either that or get the vacuum out...

Here's a life hack: Duct Tape.

 

Whenever you use a dustpan, you always get that line of debris that never goes away even after multiple sweeps. Use duct tape to clean the dust mounds quick and easy.

Well, don't go to college/university just for the sake of it, make sure you're doing it only if it's going to be beneficial for your future career prospects.
