Fear is only a weakness, even if somebody had Ebola fear would have no place unless they wanted to be in a state of negativity.
This is all about fear, media creates a lot of unnecessary negativity. Quite possibly there is a simple solution or cure but also people who would pay big $ to keep it hidden in order to make more $ off of fear and hype. I bet that this disease can be cured with herbs/natural remedies (underestimated my many), water therapy, natural food, positivity and sunlight/exercise but medical companies and such tend to hide any cure that they can't get someone to pay for.
Yes I'm sure 4000 Africans have died because of lack of sunlight and natural food ![]()

Well you made it clear that you have strongly rejected a very simple idea. Have you studied the thousands of medicinal plants or all the variables to actually logically reject that idea though? By the way yes of course I can be wrong about my guess, and no offense to you pal.
Happily, there are people getting paid the big bucks to do that for me! If they do discover a natural cure for ebola, it will be their job to purify, concentrate, and regulate it so that sick people get the proper dose for a cure. Yay, science!

No but science has. Stop posing as a pseudo-biologist and post some sources and facts before getting lippy.

It is hypocritical that you aren't using sources or facts for your first sentence. Only to make it clear in my original post I used the words "I bet that", I never said I was right or wrong and was just sharing an idea that could be discussed. Afterwards I got replies that were logically flawed that went against my simple idea, so I invalidated them without being rude. That's rather plain and simple. This topic is under general discussion so I discussed something. ![]()

The reason there hasn't been a cure so far isn't because corporations are paying big money to sweep it under the carpet. The reason is that it hasn't been worth the investment up to now as it's just been a disease that's affected a tiny proportion of people in little countries somewhere in Africa that, and no offence to them, nobody particularly cares about, most people haven't heard of and who can't afford to pay for expensive vaccinations. Now that there's seen to be a risk to Western countries you can bet that the big pharmaceutical companies will be climbing over each other to be first to market with a vaccine and they'll make a shitload of money from it too. ![]()
Soooooooooo much profit was made from anti-viral medication like Tamiflu during the whole Swine Flu debacle and they mysteriously forgot to mention to the public that it wasn't even a cure, all it did was to lessen the symptoms a tiny bit so you felt better in say 5 days instead of 7. ![]()
I'm still waiting to die from the ever approaching apocalypse of bird flu.
Or SARS.
One of these days... It'll start with a sniffle and before you know it we'll all be clucking ourselves to death! ![]()

Fail. It was a ridiculously obscure reference and you missed it.
You're going to have to enlighten me on that one, I still don't recognise it even after you've pointed it out. ![]()

Interesting mate. It did make me curious trying to think of what the scale of current research might be at. What your explaining makes a hell of a lot of sense and being that I didn't put much research into this "outbreak" or the last ones it was a good read.
5 days instead of 7, how magical haha! XD

Yeah, cause it's an airborne disease too.

Semi-ethics question for everyone: If your country sent research personnel/aid workers to Ebola-stricken countries and they contract the virus, do you think they should be allowed to fly back to get treatment?

If they volunteered, no.

Can you like not be an asshole to me dude thanks

People still pay hundreds of dollars for that fucking shit every year. It's so stupid!!!

Can you stop being a paranoid, please?
It's not like you live on a third world country.

Oh well I live in Canada and I got swine flu as well. Luckily my mother is a nurse so she checked my lungs daily and what not and made sure I didn't go running into any bright lights as much as at one point I wanted to. And I not only wasn't paranoid, but I was so disinterested in it that I had no idea what it was when I caught it until I was diagnosed. And, Canada is not a third world country.
Edit: That being said, swine flu was fucking horrible and I can understand the fear of catching Ebola, which is unimaginably worse, but it isn't airborne and it's just so irrational to think you're going to get Ebola because you got a nasty flu. You can't help to feel paranoid, as long as you recognize the fact that you're being crazy.

Dude lol you are not even worth an argument @HiMyNameIsNick chill
My Mom's school on Friday had 200 students absent lol

Posted 18 October 2014 - 02:57 PM
That's fucked up. If I volunteer for the red cross or hab for humanity or some shit you wouldn't let me come back to the states to get treated?
If you chose to go knowing the risks, then why should you be allowed to come back and risk infecting others? I mean, as far as I can tell, the treatment is the same no matter where you are, since there's no cure, so why does it matter where you are?
