I'm so annoyed with my mom. She's complaining about money issues but she brings it on herself. The IRS garnished $350 from her check but she didn't even call to see what was going on until they took another $350. That's when she found out that they were taking the money because she didn't prove that my brother was her actual child and she needed to fill out some paperwork. And now she won't get her money back for 6 months. And then they took 300 out of her bank account because she had a ticket due last month that she didn't pay (well that's what she's suspecting she still has yet to call and find out what's going on because she still hasn't learned). And her boyfriend is a fucking idiot. He stopped paying the cable bill until it got cut off and now they're asking me if they can get internet put in my name. The only reason I said yes is because my brother needs Internet access for school. But I told her that I need confirmation of it being paid every month or I will shut it off.

So she's telling me because of all this she can't pay her part of the cell phone bill til later and she can't pay me for the Beyonce tickets ($340 in total) and then I hear her bragging to her friend that she just bought plane tickets to New York for $335 for their trip to NYC. So you have money to go to New York but you can't pay me back? And Willie owes me $200 for the tickets but he says gonna pay me next week. He better or he will be listening to the Queen from the parking lot. And Edward still owes me $30 but at this point I'm ready to just hold that L because I don't even want to speak to him.

It sucks because I don't really care about money so I always try to help people I care about when I have it but it also sucks to feel like you've been taken advantage of when they don't even attempt to pay you back or make you wait months.

This one time when I was younger I went to make ramen, the water was boiling so I put in the noodles and left the room... Well I got distracted and hour(s) later the smoke detectors were going off and I come to the kitchen to find the pot smoking because the water boiled out and the noodles burned. It smelled soooo bad and I ruined a perfectly good small ramen pot took days before the smell went away and years before anyone would stop joking about my cooking skills .

I've been trying to exchange some of my shifts and days off for the next months with some of the guys because I won't get any vacations until April next year and I already bought most of the tickets for this year summer festivals and I keep telling myself that this is normal. "If you cover for me on X day, I'll make a whole month of your night patrol and weekends."

And when I tell that to Mancave, while we're having diner, he looks to the Tiny Humans and says "aren't you forgetting something?" and the only thing I could say was "Calm down, we're going to see The National, I still have Christmas days to trade".

I like to experiment with food, and that's usually why it goes horribly wrong An obvious sign from whoever above that I should never become a scientist or a chef.

 

Also, apparently the smoke detectors at home don't know the difference between steam and smoke.

 

Every time we cook inside the house, it goes off. The first few times it did, I went running into the room with copious amounts of water and removed the pot from the stove, only to discover that it was steam.

I listen to over 8 hours of music every day, mostly because I'm a music junkie, but also a big part is because it helps me out a loooooot. That's roughly 10/30 days a month. ~120 days a year spent listening to music. Pretty fucking crazy when I think about it, but I wouldn't have it any other way

My great grandpa is always complaining that I never call him. I rarely ever call anyone because I don't like talking on the phone. I don't understand why now all of a sudden it's so important that I call him when I was barely on his radar at all growing up. They always treated my aunt better than my mom and they always treated my cousins better than they treated me. They've always been pretty low key colorist toward my mom and me. Telling me to stay out of the sun or I'll get too dark. Telling me how I need to "tame" my hair. I know it's because they're from a different time when assimilating into whiteness was really important but it's kind of hard to want to talk to someone when all they want to do is put you down for the features you were born with. I'm sorry I didn't get my dad's light skin and light green eyes, MY BAD. I always tell him he has my number and he should feel free to call me. He's the one who just sits in the back room watching TV all day so I don't understand why he won't call me. If I'm not at work I'm usually at home looking for a new job, if I'm not looking for a new job I'm with my friends, if I'm not with my friends I'm with Edward, and if I'm not with Edward I'm trying to enjoy the few moments of silent alone time that I cherish. Most of my family accepts the fact that I only call people on birthdays and holidays. If you just want to say hi you have to call me because I don't ever call someone just to say hi. It's funny because my great grandpa is the exact same way. He'll only cal me on my birthday, but expect me to call him every other time.

At first it was reported as a shooter on the loose and the whole campus was on lockdown. I have friends who live there and work at the apartment complex. and obviously friends at the school. I think I've never been more scared while texting people to make sure they're okay.

That whole area is starting to get rough. I vacationed all the time there as a kid and boy has it changed. I go to NMB/Cherry Grove probably 7-8 times a year and I always take Highway 22 so I can avoid Conway and Myrtle altogether.
