Do you get bored at all? Or scared someone will find out?

 

I've considered saying something or quitting but damn if I don't want to enjoy this pay for doing things I like. 

I get bored yes, because I'm not used to having an office job. I've been an aircraft mechanic for the last 3.5 years. Now I sit behind a desk and talk to pilots when they come into my office. Needless to say, I don't do much, and my bosses know that.

I've reached the last rank I can get before I have to test for my next ranks =p.Senior Airman (E4) is the last rank that is just given to us. You're partially right though -- they stick people in my job who are either shit at their job (not me), or have medical issues to where you can't be on your feet for 10+ hours per day (me). The only person preventing me from being promoted is me ^^.

 

Btw I just tested for Staff Sergeant last week. I kind of hope I made it, but this years test seems like one of those where I either did really good, or really bad lol.

I don't know if mature is the right word. I definitely view things differently from a few of them lol. I guess it depends on the subject. When I'm around my younger cousins, I'm just a big kid (I've been made fun of for playing with them, but I couldn't care less). But when there's something serious going on, I don't like to joke around.

I can't stand dudes who talk like that. Foul mouthed piglets who just want to use and abuse women. I'm so glad I never went to a traditional university, because the college parties I HAVE been to have been dudes praying on drunk girls...There is MUCH more to life than having sex with anything with legs.

YES. There's one specific dude that disgusts me there. My sister went to school years ago with him and she told me quite a few bad stories from him, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, it's a shame that people like that exist. But we have to do our part -- and try to change those who are ruining our image lol. I know you are too, so thanks for doing your part.

I know that I haven't been around here for a long time, but yesterday I read almost the whole feminism board because i was procrastinating and it was fairly entertaining and that thread definitely left me with the same impression; there are quite a few nice guys here. Not "nice guy" nice guys, but actual nice guys. Obviously the feminism debate thread isn't indicative of the whole site but still, the fact that guys were telling those who were more than a little misogynist to just shut up said a lot to me.

 

ETA: Slightly off topic, but my brother is autistic and used to work with a lot of guys like you described, just treating women like rubbish, and just being all over creepy. He didn't have much to do with people, so he figured that was what guys his age were supposed to act like. It was gross but interesting at the same time, especially when we had a family reunion thing and he started pulling out that attitude around our cousins, who pretty quickly knocked some sense into him haha.

I would use that word too to describe @Swarley, there are so many occasions that I forget that he's not even 20 years old yet.
