I saw Hot Pursuit on Sunday for my momma. Don't watch it. It was not good. It doesn't even deserve to have me post the trailer here.

I enjoyed this movie very much, showed two different styles of spies, the fight scene at the bar "Manners Maketh man"  :funone2:

Just saw Mad Max: Fury Road on Saturday and it was amazing. I'd probably see it again though cause I feel like I missed some things in between all the action.

Seconding the Mad Max recommendation. Honestly I was quite surprised since I had semi-low expectations due to the trailer I saw. Turned out really good.
Also been on the fence about seeing Kingsman but I guess I should give it a shot when it comes to DVD soon.

Thirding the Mad Max: Fury Road recommendation.

It was absolutely nuts.  I loved every second of it.  I've been trying to go again, but the ball-and-chain has been over for the past week and didn't want to go see it.  :(  (But I did go see Pitch Perfect 2 with her, not as good as the first in my opinion.)

I saw a lot of movies lately. I will post them and give a brief opinion on them. May be spoilers.

    Kingsmen

Funny enough I thought this movie would be god awful but it was great and funny. I enjoyed watching it and I would recommend it.

    Chappie

Saw this movie, was not what I was expecting at all. The commercials were all lies, the movie was very silly and was about a robot doing heists. I dunno, I didn't care for it. Some people say it was supposed to show how the AI can do anything but.. it felt cheesy and silly. District 9 and Elysium were better movies. I would skip over this movie.

    Ex Machina

Now this was good, very good. It let me forget all about Chappie and had me hooked on a real AI. Very clever and mysterious movie. Definitely worth a watch.

    Avengers: Age of Ultron

It was a fun movie but I felt the first Avengers movie was better tbh. Still a good movie, worth a watch.

    Mad Max: Fury Road

Amazing movie, I really liked it. The story is meh but the interactions with the characters and the presentation of the world is just amazing. This and Ex Machina I feel were the best movies I have seen so far.

    You're baiting me

    ---

I've seen quite a few movies lately, so I'll put the most notable in two easy categories.

    WATCH THESE
Mad Max: Fury Road (SERIOUSLY FUCKING WATCH THIS)
    Still Alice
    Ex Machina
    Wild

    DON'T WATCH THESE
    Focus
    The Boy Next Door
    Into the Woods
    Big Eyes

The Boy Next Door was awful.

    However, I enjoyed ITW. Underrated.

Not gonna knock your taste lol but holy hell did I think ItW was awful.

@Shannon what do you see in ex? Lol

Great cinematography, for starters. The acting was relatively good and I thought Alicia Vikander who played Ava did a good job at embodying a robot lol. You can even see how she's altered her walk to be more androgynous/robotic. Her performance in the last 10 minutes was so sick. Also I loved all the little references to historical events and classic lit. But the ending... Ya that was a fucking buzzkill.

Gotta agree here - Ex Machina was amazing.
