I'm glad my household wasn't the only one it was banned in although "Cowabunga Dude" is totally a Ninja Turtle thing so I don't see how the two instances would be related. 

 

I could totally see Pokemon being banned if it was like Pokemon Origin, but the regular one was just about going on adventures with friends. 

LMAO. jon's pop culture on point. Exactly, Bart was more towards Aye Carumba though I don't doubt he probably went "cowabunga" a few times, it was the 90s after all.

Well. My dad is a special person and is big on hunting and well, I think he wanted to get us used to hunting but I was never big on it. I moved out 7 years ago, and I was there a little while ago, that gutted deer is still on the fridge, in the same spot.

 

Also, no offence taken. My dad and I don't see eye to eye on pretty much anything. Which is why I moved out on my own when I was 15.

Squeamish. I think it might be a generational thing. My peers' parents seem a lot more ok with hunting, trapping and fishing than most of my peers.

Yes actually, that was one of the only things I liked to do with him, except we never ate them because I don't eat fish lol, or take the fish off the hook because they feel gross.

Awks. I guess that makes more sense about her decision. Not sure that leaving you with nothing but animals and non-human characters would have solved the problem though.

If it helps any, pigs will scream for literally any reason. And they ALWAYS sound like they are being murdered. Pick up a pig to move it to another pen? Deafening scream. Clipping down their hooves (which I might add, is painless and they can't even feel it), screaming for days, etc.

 

Theres this phenomenon I guess you could call it called the last pig. What happens is, when pigs are in a pen waiting to be led away to be 'processed' there is inevitably a 'last pig' and not always, but very often they completely flip out. I wont pull out a soap box or a chalk board for you but I'll link you an article about it. It's pretty sad.

 

I'm conflicted about raising our own meat. Jay and I want to homestead. I want chickens for eggs but I wouldnt have any issue processing roosters or mean drama hens. I've been taken out hunting and I insisted on learning how to skin the deer and would make myself watch up close the butchering of a pig if we decided to raise one for slaughter. But I have little girls to think about too. The blogs I follow brag about how they are raising their kids aware of where their food comes from and that they dont flinch away from that aspect. But then you have Athayade bring up very valid feelings. I don't want to shatter their hearts omg.

Haha, Reminds me of the time my friend tried a black dragon roll for the first time and thought it was good,.. until he found out that he just ate eel and almost threw up then was pissed at me and his gf for the rest of the afternoon for "getting him out of his comfort zone"
