I wonder if I'd turn red if I drank. I'm a pastey white girl and turn in to a lobster at the smallest hint of embarrassment or when I laugh so .. maybe. ![]()

How much does it take to turn red? Is it even after a single sip? 1 drink? 2? My cousin for instance is like a thermometer when she drinks and as she gets more drunk the larger a portion of her body is red.
The more I drink, the redder I get. One drink I'm fine, halfway through the second drink, my cheeks are red (probably from smiling lol) but by the time I get to my 4th, I'm so red in the face.

Just one shot or drink gets me red. Pretty much my entire body burns up, I also sober up more quickly. Before I needed a lot to get me wasted though, probably not now since I only drink like three or four times a year lol.
Is it a uniform red like lobster or is it a splotchy measley red?
Face, arms, legs or uniformly red and my chest, stomach, and back are splotchy

Yeah, maybe? I let mine help me skin deer legs and when she sees the cute little deer playing in the road she's like omg food instead of Awww Bambi. I think having a connection to what you're eating though is super important and it helps people appreciate what they're eating when they know what it takes to get it.Thats reassuring. My 3 year old made the connection with chickens, eggs and her food but seems okay with it. We have whole roast chickens twice a month and she's right in there grabbing a leg and telling me "mom, this chicken is delicious." Or grabbing eggs from the fridge and pretending they are "baby chickies" before helping me crack them into a bowl.
mind you, she's never lived with or played with chickens so thats different
I start on my face and it goes down my neck and chest solid.Just one shot or drink gets me red. Pretty much my entire body burns up, I also sober up more quickly. Before I needed a lot to get me wasted though, probably not now since I only drink like three or four times a year lol.

My mother is from Poland but is the same way with food. She grew up super poor .. like Polish ghetto poor. So to her, every meal was a blessing and you ate every single thing that got put in front of you.
It's amazing that I grew up a picky eater. I'm trying to change it now but after nearly 3 decades, it's incredibly difficult.
Would you say that Polish people eat "exotic" food? I'm not sure how else I would describe it without it being offensive.

I was somewhere in between this when I was young. One of my good friends had a farm and another one's father was a deer hunter, which was their main source of food. So I learned early what it was like to see the food we were eating and how it got there, but never really detached myself from the "aww cute animals".
Now the internet has desensitized me to everything.
But I still like the cute animals.

Count your blessings, uniform is better than splotchy.
I need a new starting point. What is your favorite cheese and why?
I like smoked cheddar. It smells great with that smokiness and I like my cheese dense. Cheese which 'squeaks' freaks me out

Sooo... outside of alcohol what's everyone's drink of choice?
Green tea is my favorite. I like to turn it into iced tea then infuse it with fruit like lemons or strawberries.

I don't think I could choose a favourite cheese but I think I like Havarti a lot, it's not too strong a taste that you can add to a sandwich but can still be eaten on its own

To me, it's pretty exotic. But again, this goes back to me being an extremely picky eater raised in the United States. My mother was born and raised in Poland and lived there for 30 years.
In the grand scheme of things? No. I find a lot of it is pretty standard .. soups, meats, vegetables, mashed together and cooked in a bunch of different ways. There are some things though .. like tripe soup and duck blood soup. In the grand scheme of things though, pretty tame to some of the "exotic" asian fare.

Sharp cheddar. It's a dense and flavorful cheese which is good a variety of ways. I usually prefer cutting off a hunk from the block and eating it straight, but I also enjoy having it on wheat crackers as well.

I love green tea but I find Japanese restaurants in my neighborhood have bizarre tasting green tea, like soapy even. *shudder* I like green tea plain, hot and cold are both good with me but I prefer it plain. I still prefer black tea over green though. I like the astringency

I like feta cheese. Just something about crumbly cheese and cheese tastes better in small pieces.

This. ^
I hope my girls are cool with it the way yours are. I guess it comes down to how we introduce them aswell. We're not at a place in our lives where we can raise animals yet but I want to teach my girls to respect and appreciate where meat comes from. I don't want to desensitize them to it. I hope they feel connected to their food, the stuff we grow in a garden too since it isnt coming from a package in a grocery aisle.
I'm so excited for nigerian dwarf goats omg. (not for eating)

It shouldn't taste soapy at all... makes me wonder if they are cleaning the cups or kettle correctly.

On sandwiches, Provolone. In general, I really like Gouda. Especially on crackers ughhhh.

I have to agree, I LOVE feta. But the softer kind.
As for non-alcoholic drinks, tea is my fav or ice coffee/chocolate.

I have a huge tea collection
Iced tea. I drink it daily.
If you ever visit the states be aware that iced tea to them is unsweatened and just tea that has ice in it. Totally blew my mind the first time I had it

Tripe is delicious although there's not much flavour to it and is kind of chewy. If some of the meals that your mom grew up were pretty common to her I'm surprised she fed you more of a western diet instead of a polish one.
