any animal lovers/experts know what this is?

it's head was the size of my palm and it's body the size of my head. it was eating the wood off my window ledge. 2 stories high and there's no easy way for an animal (unless it has wings) to get up there. it was huge!

and i wasn't hiding from it! i just didn't want it to see/hear me. i didnt want it to run away. when i did scare it away i swear it just jumped down from 2 stories. i don't know if it landed safely without getting injured or not but damn...
