Interesting web sources... Nothing from the BBC or other comparably reputable news source?

You mean you don't get your news from Breitbart or Rappler?

Difficulties arise when refugees are placed in tent cities/camps, countries where the populace is openly hostile to their presence, and when they're promised jobs they can't get? Shocking.

And like Sweeney said, none of these sources are credible.

    Cause I can.

    Ungrateful bastards.

Do refugees have to be grateful to deserve to live in a place where they won't be killed or persecuted?

    To kinda piggyback off this...

People are forgetting that the refugees aren't uneducated or poor. These are people with degrees. An educated populace that was forced to uproot their entire lives because of war.

It's really easy to dehumanize them by looking at numbers or arguing about whether they're "migrants" or "refugees".

These series of wars are the result of the politcal game of chess the western powers played in the Middle East. It's about time we owned up to what we've done.

Does it make a difference if they are uneducated and poor?

In some people's eyes, it makes it easier to dehumanize them.

Doesn't make it just of course. People are jerks.

John Oliver did a great segment on this. A lot of refugees are being mistreated, including being physically assaulted. If some of them are bored, I can hardly blame them. Every where they go they are treated like some plague. @Romy and @Bone made some excellent points. Sorry for any errors. On my phone.

Creating a strawman and then repeating "REALLY?!" for five minutes now is a great segment.

If you watched the whole thing, okay. If you say so, but personally, I found his segment good. He raised some good points about compassion and empathy. To each their own I guess.

I saw these before this and openly wept on the train to campus the other day.

The power of humanity is awesome. Both disastrous and up lifting.

The dude behind HONY deserves a noble peace prize. srsly.

I think it's good that we are taking in refugees, I don't know what to do though if there's just not enough housing to accommodate those people.

Of course there always are economic migrants that try to take advantage. Same with people who are hostile towards refugees. I'm just hoping that these people remain a minority.

    Yeah, especially the US.
