I don't understand why forgiveness would be necessary for peace of mind. I haven't forgiven a lot of people, and I'm perfectly happy with that decision. I don't believe forgiveness is required in order to 'move on'. Acceptance makes more sense to me. Accepting that people are horrible - yes, forgiving them for being horrible - no.

Unless you have some kind of illness, if you are fat, it's because you want it. After 11 months (well, 10 actually) of dieting, I've realised that a calorie deficit diet is amazing.

Not disagreeing with your opinion about the forgiveness thing, but this isn't really true. Unless you mean in your case, your opinions will never change, it isn't true. People change everyday, and so do their opinions. I know for myself that I don't think the same as I did 5 years ago
While some opinions of mine change, others remain absolute. Possibly in Karla's case, her opinion was made absolute as an act of self-preservation. I can agree with that as she's looking after her wellbeing which should never be compromised. I also don't believe that opinions must be open to change, especially if they're not based on ignorance. People's lives and situations are different, so what works for one won't necessarily work for another.

I misread, I thought she said opinions don't change, not that that opinion can't be changed. Sorry @Karla!While some opinions of mine change, others remain absolute. Also I disagree that opinions shouldnt be open to change (and again, that's your opinion so it's okay that you think it this way), because even if you're 100% sure of something, you might be wrong. So yeah, let's disagree about that
Edit: forgot to mention, I don't mean there are wrong and right opinions (it's an opinion after all), just that you might not know something correctly to have said opinion.

That's fine. I suppose I should have said "you can't change my opinion," which is what I meant in the first place. ^^'
People are free to change their opinion, but you shouldn't have to change it just because a person says/thinks you should.

Donald Trump would be a good president for the 6 months he would be in office.

Nah, my fault ![]()
Yeah, I totally agree. It's up to the owner of that opinion, because, well, it's their opinion, so they should decide.

Social media is absolutely toxic, and unbearable right now. I think I have about 30 more words to add to my facebook purity blacklist.

Pretty well.
He single-handedly sparked a huge spike in political advocacy and awareness in the younger generations and proved that the current presidential system is an archaic one that needs remodeling to adapt to the nation's modern needs. He is a good president for those reasons. What happens past the six month point would just be an irredeemable mess that no one can put a positive spin to lol

I think Sanders planted the seed. Also, how did his own actions make him a good president. Too me, the reactions of what he did does not make him a good president. What you said in your statement was that there were good citizens practicing their freedom of speech and assembly. Are criminals good because they give police a steady job?

I don't think that point needed to be made by the election of a fascist. You're giving him way too much credit and minimizing the hard work of political organizers (and the groundwork laid during the Obama years – thanks social justice movement!) by saying he's a good president for causing the recent protests and resistance.
But I guess this is the unpopular opinions thread!

I've always wanted to go to a southern baptist church to enjoy the singing and atmosphere. Any other church I can do without.
