Well, I've seen music threads, but none that are really relating to the genre of music you like. Ok. This is how it's going down:

You state the genre of music you like and the list a few of the bands. This will help people get to know us all better

I like Punk, Emo, Screamo:
Hawthorn Heights, Hot Rod Circuit, Emery, The Used, Underoath, Rise Against, and others.

Erm, I'll listen to just about anything. I haven't really gotten into screamo, its too wierd for me. Right now, I'm into The Mars Volta, Wilco, and Jackson Brown. As you can see (if you know your stuff) I'm all over the map :)

Screamo really is an aquired taste.. The first time I heard it I thought: What the hell is that crap?!? TURN IT OFF!! But after you listen to it and can understand it you might start liking it.. Some crazy extreme AWESOME roaring/screaming is done by Atreyu.. The pwn.

I don't know any of the bands/singers you mentioned but I believe ya ^^

Actually I really dislike screamo; the ones where they yell really loud.
You can barely understand them and I've gotten a dislike for them.
I prefer the softer type and I like emo I guess.
Dashboard Confessional, Yellowcard, Simple Plan, The Used, The Killers, Blink 182.
Dont hate me for this Frizzle O.O
I also like Alternative Christian music: IE, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band.

You've never heard of Jackson Brown? Wow, and I thought I was uncultured. Go 'obtain' a song by him called Take it Easy. You'll recognize it right away. And check out wilco while you're at it. Its best to buy their album (they are kind of an indie band) but if you take another route, DL the whole thing. They are really expirimental and their songs are almost never the same style. No one I've met has listened to the whole album and not found something they like.

Ah.. Thats the type of music on MTV no? I'm more of an underground guy :) And I can understand why you don't like screamo, but I'm pretty sure you haven't heard to much of it.

And I might download them red, but not right now.. I don't feal like opening up Limewire -_-

I have a massively varied taste in music.. I tried to think of the main genres I like, then added a few  examples. But then there were bands that didn't fit into genres.. rah! So here's a very trunkated list of what I like.  Here's some education, kiddies.

Metal-  HIM, Mad Capsule Markets, Mastodon
Loud - Metallica, Velvet Revolver, SOAD, Nofx
Ska- Bad Manners, Madness, 7 Seconds of Love.
Punk- Sex Pistols, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Clash.
Post Punk (random 80s junk that isn't cockrock :p ) - the Jam, Blondie, the Undertones, Boomtown Rats.
Cock Rock- Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, Led Zep, GnR, Queen
Punk/pop- Green Day, Offspring (And I don't care :D American Idiot is shite on a stick, but Dookie is amazing!)
Misc. Rock- QOTSA, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, RHCP.
Britpop- Blur, Oasis, Pulp, the Verve.
Britrock- Muse, Radiohead
Britpop, (the second coming) - Kaiser Chiefs, Futureheads, Kasabian
Whiny rock (S'not emo, but still whiny ^_^ ) - Placebo, Inme, the Cure, MCR.
Garage Rock- The Strokes, YYYs, White Stripes
Grunge- Silverchair, Nirvana
Indie- Ordinary Boys, Doves, Bright Eyes, British Sea Power.
"Indie" - the Killers
Psychodelic Rock (this actually came up as a genre when I ripped Magic and Medicine  ) - the Coral, the Zutons, Pink Floyd, Scissor Sisters
Random, eg- Fatboy Slim, Moby, Kraftwerk, Prodigy.
Various singers- David Bowie, Willy Mason, Tom Vek, Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley.

I am dissapointed in all of you, with your terrible taste in music. Lol, it's all fine and and dandy in what you listen to though. But I don't think you can really classify music in genres, it's what a band wants to be, say Slipknot wanted to say they are heavy metal, and not heavy rock, that's what they are. If you get what I mean..
