I think the idea would need broadening, because stuff like Finances, Parenting etc only relate to about 3 or 4 people on the entire board.. you may as well just post it in GC

People grow up, and on a closed forum the kiddies will cease to be kiddies sooner or later.....

I'm not one to spill any personal problems if any all over a public forum, but i'll roam through there and offer my two cents where applicable....

Hasn't there been a mature forum before, which has caused problems and has been removed? Might be my bad memory :p

Staff don't have to tell you why. If they think it needs to go it goes, we stated in a News Post awhile ago when this was an issue that if a person has a question on a staff action a PM to an SMod is in order. The SMod can then direct you to the Mod who made the action.

You guys bring up a good point tho, the old one did cause problems. What kinda things to talk about you guys have in mind clair?

The reason why the old one went bad, as has been explained to me by several members, mods included, is because it turned into a big drug fest. That bs doesn't belong. Deleting posts cannot be that difficult, time consuming perhaps, but I think worth it when reg opens again. How many sites of this genre can say that they have a place for older people to go, and place where the younger can get some real world advice.

That's a good point. What kind of chattable things you have in mind?

I'm all for making that forum. Good way to put it. Can be used to get advice from older members.

Maybe if the age of a member is above something they get a member title saying so so they get some respect as they should. We don't know who's older now and might be rude

I just don't think it will achieve enough posts for it to be succesful, although I'm all for giving it a shot, give it a test period of a month and see how many posts/topics it gets.

Anyways, Noit, is it alright to PM you about it then, since you're higher then a mod? I just saw abosultey nothing wrong with my post, there wasn't even any cussing in it :o.

Just put it as a subcategory in General Chat.

*nod nod* I know several interested.
I don't think the age thing is necessary there are plenty of 20 year olds that act like their 5 and plenty of 12 year olds that act like they're 30.
Its just that a lot of the people on here are going to college soon. They need to be able to ask people that are/have already been through there to help them make desicions. I need help even, and I'm the first to admit it.
Codex is evolving from a Neopets cheating site and I think we need to act accordingly.

I think it's a good idea. Not only for older people, but younger people who want to start learning this sort of stuff early so they will be more prepared later in life. Like Sakura said, Codex is moving away from Neopets and I think some changes would be great.
