Hey everyone, I have just connected the computer in my room to the family computer and to the modem using a router. Now I can do everything I want basically use all of the programs I need except for one. That is MSN Messenger.

Everytime I try and log in it says
"Sorry we were unable to log you in a this time. Please Try again later.
MSN has made several failed attempts to sign you in. Your firewall may be blocking Messenger from connecting to the service. Please review your firewall settings."

Now I have tried altering Windows firewall and my Norton Antivirus. Turning off both seems to still not work. If I could get some advice...

Also When I go into Control Panel and into Network Connections It says I have an Internet Connection however when I go into IE and into Connections it doesnt have any Internet connection on the list.

It would be great if someone could help, Its not a desperate situation because I can use web messenger for the time being.

Thanks.

have you opened the ports on the router that msn uses? i think it uses TCP Port 1863 for sending messages and 6891-6900 for sending files. (might want to check these i'm not positive)
